Hey all! So I've been out of the roleplaying scene for... possibly half a decade? I'm Jo, she/her, 23 (24 this July) and I've been wanting to get back into roleplaying for a looong while. Problem is, I don't have the experience that a lot of online roleplayers seem to ask for/expect these days? I'm looking for something long-term and fairly causal, meaning that there are some weeks I'll reply nearly every day/every other day, and others I might reply a lot in the span of a few days and then (with warning given) have something come up re: college workload that will mean I have to disappear for a bit. I can probably guarantee weekly interactions at the very least, and I want to try to have a post length on the longer side to make up for that, but again, I lack experience so I may be a bit rusty. I'd prefer to roleplay via email (where it's easier to write nice long responses) but I've heard all the cool kids use Discord these days so I may be up to that too. Smail is fine I guess, but it's harder for me to keep track of.

I don't particularly care to roleplay as canon characters from fandoms and such (and I won't require you to either), but I like roleplaying as OCs within universes such as: -Steven Universe -Portal (maybe, depends on what is included in the canon) -Gravity Falls -Infinity Train -Team Fortress 2 -Undertale(maybe) -Homestuck(BIG maybe; I'm fairly out of the fandom at this point but I always loved the world building) -Subeta (pet characters in or out of universe) -Neopets (see above) -Pokemon -Feel free to suggest something, I may know it or be willing to learn! These are just those most familiar to me at the moment

I also think I could enjoy the various tropes such as -Gifted (academy esque or on-the-run sort of things, or both) -Hero/Villain -Sci-Fi (I don't have any specific scenarios in mind but I'm willing to discuss) and a bunch of others I guess? I honestly don't know what's in vogue at the moment but I'm willing to try out a lot.

If you want a link to my Toyhou.se characters, please ask! I'm not necessarily open to roleplaying with all of them, but there are some I've put a lot of work into (particularly Steven Universe OCs) and I would love the chance to flesh them out more.

Basically, I'm willing to try nearly any setting as long as I have or can come up with a character for it. I don't particularly care for shippy roleplays, and I typically only feel comfortable playing as female characters regardless (I don't have any preference for the gender of who you play though! Whichever works best!). I like developing interactions as I go, so while I'm fine doing some planning plotwise, I'd prefer in some cases just having interactions define where the story goes. I can probably double, I never have before but I honestly don't mind the idea of it.

I can write a lot at once, but due to being a college student, a night owl, and having a bit of a crazy sleep schedule, my pacing varies. See what I described earlier for what I can promise. If you end up feeling that the roleplay is not working out for whatever reason, I understand and will not hold it against you if you have to drop it.

Please, please give me something to write.

I too, have been out of the RPing world for quite some time. I'm not promising anything in the way of pure quality, but I would love to give it a shot! I don't have any characters that I've kept over the years - in fact, I wasn't really aware that people did that - and would have to start new. I honestly don't really know any of those fandoms that you posted, but I am very interested in a general Gifted or Sci Fi genre.

sorry for the late reply (in fact I should be getting to bed right now but I wanted to make sure I didn't leave you hanging)! I'm definitely up for something Gifted or Sci-Fi esque, though I admit I'm more experienced(to the extent I am at all) with those topics in more of a group roleplay setting. I'm still definitely willing to work something out though! I have some various scenarios I've thought of over the years and if you have any ideas I'd love to see. It's definitely fine that you don't have any premade characters- I know not everyone does that and we can still figure something out. I'm fine using existing characters or making them to suit the roleplay, either works. If you're interested in a Subeta RP and have any pets you might want to base yours on that could work too!

I have a lot of work to do this week but next week is my Spring break so I'll have a lot more time then, though some of it will be spent recovering from being so busy. I can definitely talk this week as well, there just might be some days where I'm too busy to say much.

Hi! I have to admit I'm not super familiar with vampires as a roleplay genre (I haven't seen the show either, unfortunately), but I'm not averse to trying it out! Though fair warning, I have had literally no experience with shippy type roleplays so while I don't mind trying that, I tend to prefer world and character building and seeing what goes on from there. I'm open to it though, I just don't know if I'd be any good at it.
