I don't recall ever choosing to no longer receive such updates, so I'm unsure what's going on. Gotta manually check every now and then.

If you go to edit shop for that particular shop, then you can choose to get events. It may be that you accidentally hit something (if you have been to that page recently) or it could be related to the bug that certain events are not working.

If you want to check and make sure that you have events enabled, we can test it. Just ping me after you check and I can buy something.
