I support this idea, currently I would rather just get the extra copies than to submit direct to shop because it would end up if I can sell them being more of a profit. I hope we can change the cost of direct to shop in some way at least.
As a frequent releaser, I second this. The "direct to shop" feature is really expensive as it currently is and certainly needs a revamp, which could pretty much help to revitalize the CW market itself.
Both options suggested by are valid and could work well. It'd be lovely to get an extra copy to send to the artist so we wouldn't need to pay an additional amount on top of the already-expensive-direct-to-shop-submission fee. And, of course, reducing the overall cost of the DTS feature would make us releasers more inclined to use it, which would lead to more CWs being added to the site and an inevitable rise of the CSC purchases made by users (releasers and customers). I don't see how this wouldn't be a positive change.
I agree that if the DTS cost was lower i'd be sure more inclined to use it, especially for not as popular items/recolors that are a struggle to fill the first batch for.
oh man, this is a good suggestion!
I haven’t ever used the direct to shop feature because it’s real fucking expensive and just not worth it. I can assume, as said, this was useful in the time when batches were 10 copies, but it hasn’t been that way for many moons. I’ve been actively submitting for about a year now, and the direct to shop feature has just glared at me uselessly for all that time.
I agree that slotting over forums has become pretty slow, and now also due to pings being wonky, it’s difficult to measure if and how many people are interested in the release. I like the idea of communicating through my shop more, but I’ve just not yet had the ease of doing so bc Gdamn that expensive direct to shop action ,,,
I’m fully in support of revamping it to suit the current needs!
Heartily second this suggestion! There is no incentive to use the DTS feature, and I have never used it either.
Lowering the price might also encourage some users who don't want the hassle of slotting or interacting with other users/the forums to begin submitting CWs DTS, users who might otherwise not submit at all, or might submit normally and keep all 5 copies to themselves (adding to the exclusivity problem that is frequently mentioned in CW discussions).
I'm not a releaser, but I am a constant lurker of the CW shop. I'd second whatever options gives me more options in the shops. I'm a bit of an impulse shopper, and might throw some money at the site if I see something appealing more often.
I really love this idea! I would definitely use the DTS option more often if the price were lowered, or if we got an extra copy to send to the artist. Sometimes I will DTS something if I don't think it would be super popular, but I really want it on site anyway, or if I don't want to overwhelm people with a lot of pings. It's quite expensive though, so I usually use the option only as a last resort. However, I would be much more inclined to use it if this new idea was implemented!
I would love for the dts price to drop to a more reasonable amount. It would be so much easier to get a billion things on site if dts option made more financial sense.

I definitely think a revamp to the DTS option for custom wearables is needed. It's way too costly comparing that to submitting a single batch. I personally go the route of submitting a batch because it's much cheaper but since I can't be arsed to slot things for a long while now, I haven't been submitting anything (aside from my lumi gifts). ^_^

I personally don't know if I've ever used the DTS feature so any of the two suggestions (or any others) would be a great change.
Both suggestions are great ideas for a revamp of DTS. I rarely use DTS with the new 5 slots batch system because it's only a 400 csc difference at the biggest category and I only get 1 copy for myself. It is very very rare for an artist to decline their own copy. I have lots of older items that I would like to get on-site, but the activities in the forums slowed down considerably. I've also seen an increased interest in certain items after I get them on site. I see people who are not active in the forum showing interest in items that are/were in my cw cash shop. Perhaps a lower submission price would help us sell our cws cheaper, making them more accessible to those who are not able to buy csc easily.
