Forgive me if this has been discussed already. I went through the plushies I still need for my collection and I found myself wishing I could set an alert for when a particular plushie stocked in a shop. It would be cool to know that it's sitting in a shop, whether that is a regular shop or a specialty shop, and yes I would need to be quick to purchase...but we have alerts for just about everything else and I thought this would be pretty cool. Why not allow alerts for when wishlist items stock?

I'm not sure if this is something that would be possible to do, or if it is that it would potentially cause a lot of lag or other issues. Plenty of people have huge wishlists, and any sort of script or something that would like scan everyone's wishlists and then scan the shops on the site and send alerts when it finds a match just seems like it would cause more trouble than it would be worth.

They've already eliminated pages that sort of did similar things like the account worth page that estimated the value of everything on your account and an old feature of wishlists that would run an account search and tell you if you had an item that was on your wishlist or someone else's wishlist somewhere on your account.

Of course I'm not staff and not a programmer, so I don't 100% know if this is something that would even be possible, but just based on past experience with the site it doesn't seem like something that would end up working out all that well.

No thanks. This would be a fun killer and a server killer all rolled into one. ._.

Restocking would be made pointless. Add all the things that sell well to your wishlist and just idly play slots while waiting for your sidebar to go "An item from your wishlist has just restocked in -insert NPC shop here-!". Repeat across 500+ active accounts for thousands of restockable items. Events also get pushed to inactive accounts and last I spoke with Bug about it, this is not good for the site.

Users already grumble about how frustrating BHH restocking is and this would make it even worse. You know that the super rare battle item you want restocked, you got the event less than 10 seconds ago but haha oops, someone else was faster because your internet speed isn't up to snuff. Or add all the BHH items ever released to your WL and never bother actually checking it because the site is just going to do that for you.

Token shop? nbd, I'll just add all the potions to my wishlist. Don't have to bother with waiting for the human-run ping group to tell me that there was a new restock, I can just idle on the site while waiting for the event to tell me if the potion I want restocked or not.

Remember the frustration with the Universal Remote and the crystal shop? Yeah, let's not even go there.

Lastly, I'm one of those people who really don't want to be pestered by the site to buy, buy, buy. I'll get my WL items on my own terms, I don't need to be repeatedly prodded into buying things just because an item on my 2k+ item wishlist restocked, is sold by the Hustler, was sold to the pawn shop, or something else.

Given that you can't even see WL outlines in restocking shops because it takes most of the challenge out of restocking, I really don't see something like this happening. It would ruin the whole restocking system because people would just add expensive items to their WL to get an alert every time they stock. And that's without even mentioning the lag that would result
