If anyone still plays animal crossing new leaf, I need some advice on why my villager plot won't go on the one I want? So patterns prevent them from placing houses now, and I have 3, 3x3 open spaces where I want my next houses to go. Soleil is trying to put a plot, and she has repeatedly tried 2 of the 3 open spaces, unfortunately not the one I wanted her in. I got her from the campsite. I now know about the 3 building per acre limit, and so I have counted out my 16x16 tiles and there's no reason she shouldn't be able to go in the spot I want. There is only 1 row of tiles (covered by patterns) between the 3x3 open space and the river. This is the only thing I can think of, but the villager who just moved out, her house was 1 tile in front of the river in a different spot.

So. the centers of my player houses fall in the other 16x16 square, and there's only one full villager house in the 16x16 I'm trying to place a new villager in. I want soleil in the far right open space, next to the one existing villager house. But she only puts her house in the other two open spaces. If there was an interference with the acre limit she shouldn't be able to put her house in the middle spot, but she can. Is it really because the 1 tile river barrier? Or am I just impatient/unlucky?... What am I missing?

I love ACNL! Been wanting to pick my game back up but haven’t had time lately. Anyways, Papi moved in one spot in front of my river so it is possible, that’s not what’s stopping Soleil. Do you have a rock or PWP nearby?

I stopped playing around August 2016 before the welcome amiibo update and finally just continued back in late September a few months ago. So I had a massive break! Usually take breaks when I'm plot resetting for 8th villager :D I'm working on redoing my town slightly.

There are no rocks or pwps close by, the closest pwps are the bridges, but she loves to try the far left spot which is even closer the bridge so no problem there. I tried so many times yesterday I wish I had counted, and I just went to bed without placing her.

I wish I had put an extra pattern in the 2 spaces I didn't want her in but I didn't think that far! I've considered giving up and letting her go in the middle but I'll keep trying and see.

I too have taken super long breaks!! I have the last date I played written down so I can just load up the day after because I don't want to lose my villagers ahaha. I love you, Biscuit please don't move! I still haven't finished my town. I gave up on plot resetting too, I just couldn't do it anymore. I kind of went berserk on my town at one point and now it's like this overgrown flower mushroom land but I'm cool with it :D

Honestly, I stared at your layout for a long time and I cannot see anything wrong with that spot. But I have read before that sometimes the game "saves" a spot for a villager when you don't have 9 villagers yet. :x So maybe because she's only your 8th it's saving that spot for someone else? Which would be hella frustrating. Hopefully that's not the case and she'll just go where you want her!!

I don't wanna lose my villagers either! So I take breaks during plot resetting for 9th because no one can even think about moving when there's so little villagers around. I still have Chief for the past 6 years, he was one of my starters. I have two dreamies I'm trying to get back, in my negligence they moved away. They're Snake and Carmen who I was trying to save the left and middle plots for, but Soleil is being difficult.

If for some reason no villager can move in the far right plot, I'm gonna have to figure out a pwp to put in there. I have a little bit of room on the other side of the bridge on the left if it comes down to villager placement.

I'll keep resetting and if I can't get her where I want by the end of the day I'm just gonna let her have the middle lol she seems deadset on the left or middle plot.

edit: I extended the map I made in the OP to show the nearest possible pwp obstacles are still very far as well as the cliff to get an idea of how far south in the town this is.

Did she ever move in?? Had a busy couple of days but I was thinking about this and hoping she cooperated for you! I'd be curious if she didn't move into the right plot if someone else would, maybe an Amiibo card character? Not like that would make sense to me :x Pretty HA btw, love the colors! :)

I could never get her in that exact spot I wanted and settled for her in the middle. It's not that big a deal, and I was mostly becoming concerned that no villager at all would be able to move there. However, the most bizarre thing happened as I got on now.

I've got a new villager putting a plot in that spot now, a 10th villager from outta no where lol. He must have come from my friend's town we just visited each other last night for the first time in a long time.

I'm thankful I got my town fixed up so he can only put his house in that area and now he has confirmed that a house can indeed go there. I'll have to work on getting him to move away sometime xD It's Kevin.

No idea why Soleil couldn't/wouldn't go there, but I'm glad a house is able to go there after all. I will try to put Carmen there when I can get her back.

Omg Kevin you lil shit, stealin' Soleil's plot! Wow talk about timing. Honestly though this is why I love Amiibo cards! You can just kick Kevin Bacon out and plop Carmen there :P Plus the MEOW coupons once a day are cool :) Anyways at least the plot is legit!!

I feel like we have similar tastes in villager personalities.. You at least definitely have some lazies in there :D I love Lazy villagers! Biskit, Papi, Raddle, Rod, Peanut, Nan (starter) & Fauna are all permanent residents Bianca is the newest to my town, I thought I wanted her but now I'm not really sure I suck haha. Frita I am going to swap out for Molly some day (ya gotta have an Uchi!) Peck I am going to get rid of, not sure for who yet, he's a very old villager (not quite starter) but I'm just not hooked on him.

Raddle is awesome he has the same birthday as me! Sorry to nerd out for a second, it's kinda rare to run into people still playing ACNL :D

I'm pleased that things are going well in my town, just got Bella to ask to move yesterday. Once I get her house out I can clean up the area where she was. Since I started playing again I'm working on getting my paths, bushes, and trees in order. I also remade my two other player characters to move their houses so I'm working on upgrading them again. I might update my dream address sometime afterwards so you can see if you're interested ^^

I didn't even know Raddle existed! He's cool. Lol you do have a few lazies! I try to have at least one of each. I wanted Bob and Punchy because I like the idea that they're friends, they even have their houses next to each other in my town. I'll end up having two jocks as well because Snake is my alltime fave villager and I love Stinky as well.

ACNL was the first animal crossing I ever played so everything was a new experience for me. My starters were Snake, Chief, Aurora, Mallory, Apple. I miss Apple sometimes and Eugene who was one of my first move-ins.

Not sure which villager has the same birthday as me... checks Looks like Pierce and Joan the turnip seller. Interesting. I still get a calendar notification for Snake's birthday though he hasn't lived in my town for 5 years now. My friend has a Snake in her town for me whenever he wants to move.
