I got "donate an item" AND "delete 4 items" today, and I thought it would be more efficient to do both at once via quick stocking, but he didn't seem to notice at all.

I don't think it's any bug, it's intentional that you're supposed to do it by hand. Like pumpkin deleting achieve, you have to do it by hand too.
