I just got to Tier 8 and I need a bit of set advice. Here are my current stats:

Level: 453 Health: 1302 Strength: 1110 Defense: 1014 Speed: 1003 Intelligence: 1515 AP: 94

I'm currently only putting EXP into health as I'm aiming toward a high health build in order to take on BQ and seasonal opponents as early as I can over the next year. At the moment, I tend to get between Level 21 and Level 25 on the BQs. I can beat Gate Keeper, Slaughtersaurus, and Cursed Effigy. I can get somewhat close to beating Mornrise Serpent - I think it'll be possible soon. I haven't even come close to beating Saggitarius, Sandragon, Batista, Surge, or Ancient Sphinx, although I think most/all of these opponents are recommended for higher tiers.

This is my Tier 8 set so far:

[Item=Rainbow Vortex] [Item=Scientist Specs] [Item=Soma Tablets] [Item=Recycle Blaster] [Item=Fruit Bone Dagger] [Item=Large Gutting Knife] [Item=Reviver of the Lion] [Item=Phoenix Quill]

I've been reading through as many Tier 8 recommendations as I can find, but it seems like most people have the [Item=Blessed Trident of the Banished One] and/or the [Item=Replica Minotaur Knocker]. These items are really high on my wishlist, but it's probably going to be a long wait until the bobbleheads are rereleased. I'm also super keen to grab an [Item=Acorn Bomb] if/when more are made available. I was wondering if anyone had advice on what to use in the meantime? Is there a better weapon I could replace the Fruit Bone Dagger with for now? I've seen the [Item=Rapier of Error] and [Item=Sierrac Basal Ice Flail] mentioned in the past, but I'm not really sure which to go for (if either). I've also seen the [Item=Malice] mentioned a few times, but it seems like the general consensus is that it's not worth investing in something so expensive at this stage when you'll quickly outgrow it. Is there anything else I'm missing that could work?

As far as scrolls go, I have a default set that I use to chain freeze opponents:

[Item=Shriek of Despair Scroll] x 5 [Item=Aftershocks Scroll]

I'm currently working towards 105 AP so I can equip a [Item=Morosbane Scroll] at the start of my default set so I can get through the BQs quicker each day. I also have a secondary set that I use for opponents with freezing disabled:

[Item=Morosbane Scroll] [Item=Cobalt Eternal Scroll] x 3 [Item=Aftershocks Scroll]

My secondary set is only 54 AP and feels pretty weak. Are there any affordable options to improve it at this stage? Is it worth buying more Cobalt Eternals or are there better defensive scrolls to be gained from loot drops? As far as other scrolls go, I also have [Item=Fatal Fire Scroll] x2 and I'm a few wins away from a [Item=Cold Blast Scroll]. If you have any suggestions for what scrolls I should be aiming to pick up next, I'm all ears!

Finally, is there anything else I should keep in mind for the next few tiers? I'm working towards building my own [Item=Intricate Energized Helmet] at the moment. Anything else like this to be aware of at this stage? Thanks in advance for any advice and sorry for such a long post!

[Edit] Oh and are any of the other Cash Shop weapons worth picking up? Do they get discounted during Black Friday? It doesn't seem like any are essentials, but I figured I should double check!

And I beat Surge and Mornrise Serpent for the first time in BQs today so add them to my list of opponents I can face now!

I think you're doing very well and that you're on the right track!

  • For BQs, you're right where you should be. Extremely hard challengers (level 21-25) are typically for T8-10 so it may be a while yet until you're able to go further than that. Sophie, Flamagia, and possibly Deadroot should be the easiest impossible challengers for level 26+ so you'll know you're ready to go further when you can beat them.

  • Acorn Bomb was just rereleased in the Token Shop so it probably won't be back in there for a very long time, hence why someone artificially inflated it. I would go for Item Hunters Bomb instead. It's super cheap and very similar.

  • I prefer the Sierrac Basal Ice Flail to the Rapier of Error personally. RE can do a curse that the Flail does not so you may prefer it when you need to do a bit more damage.

  • You really don't need the Blessed Trident of the Banished One or Replica Minotaur Knocker yet. Although, we've been advocating for the bobbleheads a lot lately so I'll be surprised if they don't show up for Black Friday.

  • Malice is not something I would ever recommend. Don't buy that.

  • Cash Shop weapons are not something I would buy either, except for Rainbow Vortex, which you already have. I don't think they get discounted anymore either.

  • Your scrolls and the ones you are working toward look great!

My final advice is to not worry so much. You're doing just fine and are right where you should be at this stage :D

Ah this is really good to hear, thanks for all of the advice!

I just came up against Sophie and although I can’t beat her yet, I definitely got the sense that she would be one of the first I’ll be able to beat in time, so it’s good to know!

That’s a shame about the Acorn Bomb, I had just assumed it hadn’t been released for ages. But good to know the Item Hunters Bomb is a decent alternative! And I’ll grab the Sierrac Basal as well and try it out.

I’m trying not to get my hopes up, but I want to see those bobbleheads coming out during Black Friday so badly! I can imagine how much of party we’ll be having in the battle chat if it happens. Fingers crossed.

But yeah, it’s good to know I’m on the right track. Thanks again for taking the time to answer all of my questions! I’m definitely an over-thinker and an over-tinkerer XD

Some good T8 options that are affordable: [Item=ice King Clawed Gloves] [Item=turkey quill] is technically T7 but has it's uses against steal happy opponents

I would not recommend any of the weapons you asked about. The flail has it's uses if you have a pet with speed, but is not really useful until at least 3k speed.

Your goals for scrolls are good. Eventually you will want to replace morosbane with gift of the forj scrolls, but those take an investment. You may want to pick up ocean currents to have an infinite scroll that blocks a little water and swap between aftershocks

One of my favourite t8 weapons is . It was super cheap a while ago, but it seems the price is catching up and is more in line with the other recommended weapons for t8 now. Buy this one if you need to block light.

I like the rapier of error a lot, but I wouldn't include it as one of your main attackers, since it lacks healing (and ooh my, it's quite expensive now!). It has a pretty nice curse and a chance to freeze, which I think scales by tier. I usually use it when the opponent is frozen already and can't damage me anyway, hence no need to heal. I'm always hoping it'll give me another round where the opponent is frozen :)
