Hello! This is my second day on the site, and you have no idea how much flailing around I've been doing just to get my avatar decently dressed before posting here! I'm coming from another virtual pet site (that's been having security problems recently...) and it looks strange to see the humans and not the pets in the forum posts. Is there any way to show my pet with my image? I am sorry that I arrived so close to the end of the month, it looks as though it would have been fun to keep zapping myself.

I have slow, limited internet service and cannot stay on for long at one time, but I've been having fun here in the times I'm on!

There is no 'right' thing to do, but when you click on anyone's trick or treat link, you get a little treat from the site. Some of the items are worth a little and are just fun to collect, others can be quite expensive like 700k-1m or something, so if you don't want to keep them you can sell them for some sP to enjoy the site with c:

This is just an event that lasts mid to the end of October, so the items have only seasonal availability.

You actually cannot double-post as part of the site features (I guess our forums are more like a forum as opposed to a chat, so posts can be edited and I received your ping just fine in an edit :)) - even if you had tried, the boards wouldn't have let you.

If you do get a Gold Account, some of my favourite features are probably the larger inventory, and the 'auto price' feature (which lets you price a shop at the current lowest shop price, with a small time cache), because pricing items from quests takes forever otherwise c':

I have a question about site etiquette. I have received a couple of gift boxes from generous donors, and I'm disappointed that I can't thank them directly because the gifts are anonymous. Is there a proper way to respond to anonymous gifts?

There's no 'proper' way, but we have a few kind lurkers who are particularly welcoming to newer users, so you can probably let them know here or there is a thread in the forums under Bragging & Complaining > Gift Bragging > Thank your anonymous gifter here! (v.3) :)

Generally folks just enjoy sharing the love anonymously without feeling the need for a return or thanks (or maybe they are just shy), so there's not much pressure there :) People don't gift what they can't afford to give so there's no need to feel obliged in any sense.

The entire month of December you get items from one of the NPC's and you can decorate your own tree and people put things under it so many different gifting threads. Then there are even more people anonymously gift bombing it is so much fun. If you visit Melody every day from Dec 1st to Dec 25th there is always a reward and another one sometime for visiting every day in December. I put my tree in my signature so you can get an idea. The tree I used is the most traditional looking one. There are also some really unique ones and you can change as often as you can afford. The first change of the year is free but after that it cost sP. If you go here you can put Melody's cottage in your sidebar or change it however you like.

If you are not a coding genius this is a good link for codes you can put in your signature. They also work in a lot of different places around the site.

There is so much here, I've been here a whole week and still haven't worked my way through all of pumpkins' helpful links! Sometimes it is the most basic things that are baffling. More than once, I have accidentally put an item on my "wishlist" when I was just trying to see what it was, and then it is hit and miss whether I can get it off! I can put items into my vault, but for me the controls for getting them out again are not intuitive at all. Items that look like books or toys turn out to be wardrobe items, so I have to examine each item. There are so many different currencies! It's a lot to learn for a newbie.

I don't have a dream pet yet, there are so many to choose from! My active was born a Legeica, but for now I'm zapping it every day just to see what happens. I think that if it ever happens to zap Reborn color, then I'll turn it back into a Legeica. My second pet I turned into something fancy right away, but I'm not sure I'll keep it that way.

I just found out a few minutes ago that I can zap more than once a day, including my own avatar! Argh, I've been missing potential zaps all week!

It may sound as if I am complaining, but what I really mean to say is that I still have a lot of exploring to do, which is the fun part! i am a long way from being bored on this site!

There is so much to learn and find and do. I accidentally click the wishlist too and the way the wishlist is set up is very new and I am still learning it. As for filling in your wishlist I really like using the item search on Subetalodge. If you want to collect anything its a great way to find everything of a particular theme and if you look at the items page it will tell you whether it is a food, wearable, minion, ect.

If you love the reborn color stock up on your wizard tokens and keep an eye out for token shop restocks. Reborn potions do not show up frequently but they do show up a few time each year. Or you might get lucky when the free shop opens.

The free shop usually opens between Luminaire and New Years. It works like a free blind bag shop. You can pick any mystery item you want for free. When there are a lot of people on it can empty pretty fast but it restocks regularly. I have found some really nice items there as well as a lot of junk. Although being new you will probably find many new things. Sometimes they will open it as a reward for when the site has been visited by that annoying terricoon that tries to help. If you haven't seen him yet he is the one smashing the servers.

Its been so long since I started on Subeta I forget sometimes what all the new things there are to see and learn because they were added along the way. When I started you were limited to 5 pets or 10 if you were premium there wasn't a wardrobe and the custom wearables didn't come until a year or more after the wardrobe was introduced. The site has changed many times in many ways through the years but one thing I have always enjoyed is how friendly the people are here.

The exploring can be fun!
