What if two Tear Crystals of the same element could be combined into a Baguette Crystal, two Baguettes into a Cabochon, etc etc and two Marquise combine into an EOR?

And you could also split them back into the smaller crystals if for some reason you wanted to.

I don't know where this function would be, perhaps add a new room to the Scrolls temple?

Just thought this might give the thirty bajillion Tear crystals lying around some better use.

Some crystals don't even come in all of the variants, so they would have to add some.

If this were done I'd like to see it where it takes multiple smaller crystals to make larger ones. Mainly because the smaller crystals are way easier to get.

I support this, something like the current token system in reverse would work imo...would be nice not to lose all the crystals when you unequip though :x

No support.

The reason given is a solution in search of a problem. Modification crystals can be fragged, so all those zillions of Tears? If you don't want to chock them in, they still have a use. They're not like Frankenpie slices that can only fused-and-fragged or be RIFTed.

While it is fun to think about fusing crystals, they would unbalance battle and make it less fun altogether IMO. Mod slots are not "sized", and this is on--purpose. For the same reasons some weapons just don't get mod slots, and the total number of slots per weapon are limited.

That is only one of the reasons why I suggested it. There are other benefits, like making EORs more accessible to newbies and eventually "standardising" the prices of different tiers of crystals in the market. If crystals could be fused and broken this way, then the market would eventually balance itself out so a Marquis would cost half of an EOR (or one third, one quarter, or whatever ratio). Currently the prices are all over the place. (Something like Wizard tokens, which are very close to 3k/token across almost all sizes.)

The rest of the system would remain unchanged, so I don't understand how my suggestion would suddenly make battle unfun. I never mentioned any change to drop rates, nor being able to remove crystals from weapons. I'm fine with those two aspects remaining the way they are.
