I use to read alllll the time when I was back in high school. Haven't really read much since so I'm looking for suggestions! I love anything YA & fantasy. But I'm open to anything.

Also did you all see tt they are making house of night into a tv series?! LITERALLY SO HAPPY

I didn't realize House of Night was a book series (I'm slow sometimes lol), do you really like it? I will definitely check out the show, I saw a little bit about it already and it sounds pretty cool.

Okay first of all I read a loooot of spooky stuff so I apologize that these are mostly paranormal/dark urban fantasy, I spent some time looking thru my goodreads for more light stuff but I can't find anything I can outright recommend, but at least these are seasonal haha. I've read a handful of these and some where recommended to me by friends and I haven't read them yet, hopefully there are a couple interesting ones here for you:

YA Novels

The Deathless Girls by Kiran Millwood Hargrave A "retelling" story about Dracula's first brides, this one is on my to-do pile and I'm looking forward to reading it.

Undead Girl Gang by Lily Anderson Teenage punks who do witchcraft for fun, plus, a murder mystery, plus, bringing the victims back to life to be part of their witch club.

The Monster on the Road Is Me by J.P. Romney Someone just sent me the link to this one yesterday and it looks really cool, I might as well throw it out here, can't wait to give it a try. It's about a boy who suffers from narcolepsy and when he falls asleep he can hear the thoughts of spirits.

Adult Fantasy Novels

The Curse of Chalion (World of the Five Gods ) by Lois McMaster Bujold Beautiful epic fantasy novel (not spooky or paranormal) that is full of adventure and heart, it has a really beautiful magic/gods and goddesses system that I just love, it's one of my favorite books of all time, I recommend it to everyone.

The Vine Witch (Vine Witch ) by Luanne G. Smith A witch who uses magic to maintain vineyards and make wine, and she has to solve the mystery of who is casting hexes on her land.

Circe by Madeline Miller This is a retelling of the Greek myth of Circe who cursed the men who came to her island, turning them into the animals their souls most resembled.

Adult Paranormal Romance series:

Moon Called (Mercy Thompson ) by Patricia Briggs Werewolf romance, not very graphic at all and I'd say it's more magical adventure than romance, especially the further into the series you get. And not just werewolves, lots of cool paranormals like witches, vampires, and fae as side characters. I love this series.

Dead Until Dark (Sookie Stackhouse ) by Charlaine Harris Vampire romance, I stopped this series after book 3 because I wanted it to be a bit scarier lol but the romance is the main focus and it's got some really fun characters.
