Are these guys being released this year? We're running out of Keel Hauliday time and they still haven't popped up! :O

I want to know too, even if they're too strong for me. Surely the staff would have told us if they weren't happening this year? The only way I can see it now is if they have it last after the holiday ends.
I'll be salty as the ocean if we don't get to battle the Freyalise crew! They're my favorite NPCs :x
Apparently an admin said on the shoutbox that we're not getting pirates this year. I never use it so can't confirm. Sure would have been nice to have it said literally anywhere else where people might actually have seen it.
Yes, I was there when it was said, apparently they would have answered if we asked, but someone made an ask thread here, people asked in the battle chat thread, what else are we supposed to do, send a direct message to them? Some of us don't want to annoy the staff with these questions, it would have made more sense to answer them before we even had a chance to ask.
I'm thinking of making a suggestion thread for each event to have an FAQ (Survival has one about how it works), and one of the questions should be something like "Will X be coming back this year?" with a simple yes or no answer, and maybe mention the reason why or having something else in its place (Like how they had the Pylots for Survival this year instead of Nacho Muerte, but they didn't say anything about how they weren't going to have both until someone asked).
I just don't get why they would tell us they weren't brining back the boppers when they brought back some old challengers for the anniversary, but not say "The pirates won't be coming back this year either" or mention it in the Keel Hauliday news post.
I really don't want to seem rude or anything, I know the staff are busy with so many other things because we're getting more holidays again now (I'm so hyped for Morostide) and the anniversary and Keel Hauliday are quite close together, but just mentioning it once in a news post isn't that hard.
Well that's annoying.
If staff are going to change things up for a holiday, it's common sense to tell the userbase. idk about anyone else but I am not going to chase down staff members, tugging on their sleeves like a needy child. I feel like I'm being annoying as is when I have to ping someone from staff to begin with.
Not all of us use the shoutbox & the shoutbox does not have a perma-chatlog like the forums. :/ So this really feels like it was handled poorly. I can understand bugs and issues, like with Wizard and the Lumi items, but this is just really poor staff-to-user communication.
