With the news today I'm all pumped up about making an overlay for

Ellie and would like to try to do so in a style similar to official pet art. I've been studying ruffie art and have lineart down but tbh Subetan shading kind of evades me. It appears to be in a few layers with opacities and it's not my usual style so I don't know what I'm doing lol. I was wondering if there are any guides anywhere that make the process more clear? Or if anyone experienced in the style would like to chime in?

You may want to read around in the CW discussion boards as that is very helpful.

I believe shading is typically 3-5 layers. So your basic example would be your base color then x2 light and x2 dark shades. You want to avoid shading with white or grey.
