This is a project that kind of.. sprung randomly after my friend initiated a cw discussion thread!

I had offered to draw at the same time as a friend of mine so that we'd both be more driven. He gave me some CI suggestions, I helped him with a shading question. Overall, it felt like helping each other gave us more motivation to keep going on rather than ditching for the rest of the evening. Because sometimes we want to draw but don't know when and how to start. It's a lot more fun to draw knowing that there's other people doing the same, and that's when I decided to open this little thing!

What is Artistic Space Artistis Space was created to bring artists together, whether digital or analog, drawing cws or illustrations!

We're a small group who dedicates a weekly time to draw. It's a great opportunity to share and brainstorm new ideas, get people's opinions, have some relaxed conversations with others (text or voice!) and generally just having a good time while drawing. Whether you feel like chatting while you draw, or drawing on your own while knowing there's a group of people focusing on their art at the same time as you, this is the place! We're here to help and motivate one another! There is no participation required : you can log in, draw with us, and log out without talking if you want!

Online people are split between DIGITAL and ANALOG categories only - everyone is encouraged to help when they feel comfortable doing so, as well as poking others for questions when they need some feedback.

Please note that this is not an 'artists discord server' or meant to be a clique group - there likely won't be a lot (if any) chatting outside of gatherings. This space was created to encourage artists to draw during a collective time, with the possibility of getting feedback or advice from different other artists at the same time. It is definitely not meant to be a channel for any type of 'exclusive group'.

Official weekly gatherings can be seen on the tab (on the discord server)

As this project grows, we may also increase the number of weekly official gatherings. However, you are welcome to hop in at any time to start an unofficial group and draw to your heart's content!

How can I join? Just click on this discord link : https://discord.gg/BUnxtRA and fill in the introduction form. You will need to fill in the form so that I may assign you a category - if not, the invite link will expire on its own!

• This discord is mainly for artists, mostly because you'll probably be very bored if you aren't drawing at the same time! Not much is really going to happen, we may sometimes not talk or post at all!

ive spent so much of my life just typing away on my computer that writing literally 2 sentences with a pen or pencil hurts my hand haha Here's hoping we'll see new artists trying cws soon! ❤️

I appreciate the ping! Unfortunately I struggle massively with anxiety and people / crowds is one of my biggest triggers so a large, quick moving chat would effectively cripple my ability to work entirely. ((I also prefer to keep my discord friends-only so I'm not doing work stuff / CWs on off time.)) I do wish you all the luck with this and hope you guys have tons of fun though :)

ah ah im a terrible analog! Cant write with a pen or a fountain pen, I honestly don’t know how to draw anything with a pencil either lmao I learned to draw with my tablet mostly, so I’m a CTRL+Z maniac. Erasers just.. dont.. cut it for me QQ

I can't promise I'll be super active once inktober starts (or if the gatherings are in the evenings/weekends), but this is a very neat idea! I do wonder if there's a way we can also tie this back to the site/the forums - maybe start a gallery or a 'history book' of any group-themed pieces we do or the product of the gatherings? Either way, I'm all for art collectives.

you can do inktober with us! Really there is no participation required. Sometimes it's just to get a little kick in the ass to start drawing - you don't need to talk or type anything. Just knowing that there's a bunch of other people drawing too sometimes helps with motivation (for example, last night I meant to draw but since there was no one, i ended up just watching once upon a time for 3 hours. oops)

I'd love to do themed / collabs, that would be awesome! I'll leave a couple weeks of adjusting to see how it's going - if it's something people are interested in doing, but that would be lovely n_n

Ohhh I love this, I've kinda gotten lazy since I took a break for rl stuff. I love socializing online and look forward to doing this with y'all!

Oh wow, this sounds really fun. :) I also have a lot of trouble with anxiety and fast chats, but I have sorely missed an artistic group setting ever since I graduated college in December. I always felt like it was really important to my growth as an artist to just be around others that were also creating and to be able to see how others worked through problems. I’ll have to try to pop in when I can manage, especially since I feel like this could be the motivation I’ve been needing. :)

This is such a nice idea! It's always hard for me to find the drive to art things but I think something like this sounds like it might help me get the inspiration flowing again!
