I'm completely obsessed with a huge fan of the "It" universe and all the media/content from it. Miniseries, the two new movies, etc. I'm also (of course) a Reddie shipper so please let me know if you are too and we can talk about how cute they are and also cry a lot because EDDIE.
Share anything and everything you'd like about "It"! Movie reviews, ships, fanart, fics, theories, easter eggs, BTS info, interviews... Like, literally anything and I'll love you forever cause I've annoyed everyone IRL with my incessant rambli- er, I mean, enthusiasm and I need people to talk to lol
Also pls ping me if you respond or I'll probably forget I wrote this whoops
I only just watched the It (2017) movie a few days ago because I wanted to learn more about the characters (I don't usually watch horror). I haven't seen It Chapter Two yet but I've seen a bunch of spoilers so I know about SPOILER (click to toggle)
Eddie's fate, and I've already started reading fix-it fics because wow what a sad ending for Richie and Eddie.
I'm also a Reddie shipper and lately I've been reading fics about them and scrolling through fanart. They are both such interesting characters--I've become attached to them in such a short amount of time it's crazy.
AHHH hi!
Did you like the movie? I've always thought the story in general was so good because yeah, it's creepy, but it's also really funny and heartwarming and it feels like a really realistic coming-of-age kind of tale. Like Stand By Me, but with murder! Lol. Do yourself a favor and go see Chapter 2 as soon as you're able - it's a wild ride. Also the 1990 miniseries is a good watch as well. A little cheesy, but still very good. I'm currently slowly working my way through the book at the moment and it's taking a long time but it's totally worth it.
And REDDIE OMG I have so many fics to recommend to you, especially if you're a fan of fix-its and angst and fluff and domestic nonsense. I'd love to hear which ones you've enjoyed too!

catch me crying from now until the day I die because my precious Eddie baby is dead and he didn't even get to confess his love and MAN are fix-its healing my shattered heart rn
I enjoyed the movie a lot more than I thought I would. The humor really helped me get through the horror and jump scares. I also just like stories about outcasts banding together. I'm excited and nervous to see Chapter 2 but hopefully I'll get to see it soon instead of waiting for it to come out on dvd.
I'd love to read your fic recs! I definitely like fix-its and angst and fluff. I haven't read much about domestic reddie because I've been absorbed in fics about pining and confessions.

Even though I haven't watched the second movie, I've been so stubbornly denying the fact that Eddie's dead.
I've also been thinking about what the differences are between the book, miniseries, and movies. I assume Eddie dies in all of them, so there's no avoiding that. But is the R+E part exclusively a part of Chapter 2? Did the movie highlight Richie's romantic feelings more than the book did? (I know you haven't finished the book, but I'm just curious about the differences).
The humor helped me a bit too! I've watched the miniseries and Chapter 1 so many times at this point they're more like funny comfort movies with a little bit of creep factor instead of straight up horror. I hope you get to see it soon! There are more jump scares than in the first one, but they're relatively predictable so you'll have enough time to look away if you need to.
I'm working on compiling a list of recs for someone else too, so once I'm done I'll send it on over!

I've seen the second movie and I'm also denying it, so I FEEL that lol. It's just....not fair tbh. I cried. A LOT.
SO yeah. Eddie dies in every version of the story. Reddie is only officially canon in Chapter 2 unfortunately. In the book, Eddie is 100% gay coded, and while Stephen King says he wrote Richie straight, he's cool with us all interpreting him as not. I personally have always assumed he's bi, because the interactions between him and Eddie feel obviously flirty to me, but he also is clearly attracted to women as well. The movie never shows Richie saying "I'm gay/bi" but it's still very clear.
(Also, I know almost all the book details even though I haven't personally read through fully cause I'm impatient lol.)
I 100% ship Reddie too!! They have such a great dynamic and the two make me laugh and cry always ;w; I have not read the book, due to it being so many pages and me having the attention span of a rotten acorn, but I do definitely have a love for IT (2017) and IT Chapter 2!! I must admit I have not watched the miniseries yet lol ^^' I've read some of King's books, and I enjoyed them! The Shining and Misery were amazing!
