I'm thinking about getting a Illumis (the glowing moth), but I don't know what I would name it. I've decided to have "scientific" names for my pets (they could be fake though, but at least inspired by latin).
Should I name the illumis after a moth or after some insect that glows? I was thinking about combining the two like Lampyridae Lymantria. Lampyridae is a family of beetles that glows, Lymantria is a kind of butterfly. But of course there are many other moths and butterflies, and I could also take the name of a specific firefly. Throw all names you could think of at me! Check the scientific classification maps on Wikipedia for names you like.
idk just brain storm, brain spam

When I was looking for name ideas for my pet Lemma, I wound up looking at an online dictionary of math terms. Don't know if that's really close enough to what you're looking for, but I thought I'd throw it out there in case you wanted another angle to consider (no pun intended). Good luck finding the perfect name!
It's nice having some new inputs. I'm still new on this site and haven't fully formed my style here yet :)
