As someone who lurks in the shoutbox, it would be so nice to have timestamps (either hidden by a hover or visible) that show when someone posted in there. Sometimes it's really active, and sometimes it's not and you're unsure how old the last post was. Especially when someone posts for SubQ/Token Shop or maybe had a conversation that was hours old. It's just a small QoL change that I think could be a little beneficial for anyone that still has it open or uses it frequently.
For instance, it could be a small little clock icon next to the comment icon in the box. You can hover it for the timestamp? That way it doesn't clutter.
I agree, it would be very useful to know when people last spoke so you can tell if they're still online (And sometimes people put their BHH purchases in there and I don't know what time it was and I'd like to know so I have a good idea of when to check there), but I feel like after all these years, there's a good reason why we don't have timestamps, which is probably something to do with the site's coding, I feel like they would have to remove the current Shoutbox and make a brand new one for it to work. So I do support this idea, but I have a feeling it won't be happening.
90%+ of the time isn't the time stamp sometime within the last 30 seconds to 5 minutes? Doesn't seem that helpful, but would add a line of clutter.
