I am always disappointed in the lack of wheelchairs for sites. We have to wear something ugly, the default the chair is set with. It would be truly wonderful if we could use a wheelchair on our HA, but be able to wear different clothes. Every kind of person deserves representation.

Thank you! <3

I 100% agree with as a disabled person who uses a wheelchair I would really love something where my avatar can still look cute

I think one of the problems is that to change the HA to a sitting position, you have to have a default type of covering cause you have to hide the default legs underneath. I am not saying it can't be done, but I think it is a bit tricky. I don't think anyone is intentionally trying to exclude those who have to use wheelchairs. I actually think the set in Medicontra is really nice.

[edit] That being said, I wouldn't mind more options and I think you should make this a suggestion!

I use a wheelchair too but never incorporate them into my HA's because they're always so ugly or boring looking. Not all of us are little old ladies, haha.

oh no, I don't think anyone is intentionally trying to exclude wheelchair users. But I was thinking maybe they could be done like the beach chairs are. Even if we weren't directly sitting on them, they'd be incorporated. I will definitely suggest them! <3

I agree, the blankets are pretty...meh, and limiting.

Do you have any ideas or a general vision of how this could be fixed though? I suppose they could make a line of puffy skirts in addition to the blankets, but I think they'd end up being just as limiting.

[edit] Just saw your comment above. Yeah, background items would work.

I think it would be a great suggestion :D you should include ways of doing it...so maybe like pants, long skirts and such. If they did it with shorts or short skirts, you'd have to do one for each skin color and that might be a huge undertaking.

If only it was possible to revamp the base in a way that could "cut" parts of it and replace them with different poses and different clothes... Then we could have unrestrictive sitting items and basic leg/arm poses that could work with different clothes without having "tricks" to hide anything... That way, a wheelchair could be coupled with a basic sitting pose + some bottom/leg/ankles/feet items in said pose. (I took that idea from a mobile dressup game; gotta credit where credit is due.)

But that'd be a lot of work and a huge amount of existing items would need to be revamped to fit the new standards (though, some clothes not matching would be okay, too; they'd be meant for the standard pose instead. Older, unrevamped backgrounds are where the problem would lie at, really).

EDIT: an alternate, easier solution would be "futuristic" wheelchairs that would kinda work like X-Men's Professor X's, but I'm not entirely sure many people would find use for those, either.

I think a long skirt could probably work pretty well in the position our current set of wheelchairs are in.

I'm not sure how well pants would work since the HA base can't be changed, so any items that reposition body parts need to also be positioned to hide the HA's original body parts. I think that's why staff went with a blanket in the first place is because it's an easy way to hide the base's legs.

That said, I definitely support both background wheelchairs and more options of clothes on the HA besides just blankets, even though pants might require a lot more tweaking

I think pants could work if you do something like this:

Just have that being part of the chair and it could cover the base underneath.

Oh, probably! It's hard for me to visualize where the HA's legs actually are (I even pasted a blank HA base over the wheelchair and it's still hard to wrap my head around) so I figure the positioning is probably a bit trickier, but possible

I smiled so hard reading all of your thoughts and ideas! Thank you all. <3

I've never really been into futuristic things,, but if they were offered? I'd use them because it's different and I like that. :)

For the record, I do appreciate what we already have - the blanket set. At least wheelchairs are an option instead of being entirely left out. Still not something I would use though.

I 100% agree! I would like them without the blanket.

i have no idea if it would work with the sizing of the avatar or if its what op was looking for, but something like [link=https://www.rehabmart.com/include-mt/img-resize.asp?path=/imagesfromrd/2016-12-14_13-45-19.jpg&newwidth=650]an all-terrain wheelchair[/link] or [link=https://www.thelivingcentre.co.uk/media/catalog/product/cache/1/image/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/d/e/de-bug-beach-wheelchair-3.jpg]beach wheelchair[/link] might be nice as well?
