"Hello! For those who don't recognize me, I am Winston Bassett, the Head of the Department of Magical Games and Sports. As of today, I will also be adding "Founder" to my resume. This Quidditch Cup is the result of a dream that I've come to share with many of my fellow wizards and witches here today. On behalf of all of us, I'd like to welcome you all to the opening event to the Summer Radiance Cup 2019!"
Moving the wand away from his throat, Winston took a deep breath, his nerves clearing as the event tent filled with applause. He looked across the room, happily noting several young faces amongst the crowd. Placing the wand back against his throat, he continued to address his audience.
"As we patiently await the arrival of our final competitor to officially start the games, I hope everyone can enjoy the festivities that Zoe Parker, our lovely Activities Director has planned for you! We extended this job to her following the end of her studies at Hogwarts and look forward to being one of her first steps on this path to greatness in the Wizarding World."
Winston gestured off-stage to where a familiar young lady stood alongside a few other notable officials. Applause filled the air once again, the Hogwarts students attending cheering prouder and louder at the mention of their peer. Winston's eyes caught movement in his peripheral and in turning he realized it was one of the event coordinators. Confused, he leaned over to better hear them. As the crowd quieted down, he calmly responded to the event coordinator before returning his gaze to the crowd.
"I have a brief announcement. As some have already noted, we are offering a number of photo ops with your favorite teams over the course of the Radiance Cup. Unfortunately, it seems someone has tampered with our photos as they were being developed. Some of them are already showing issues and there may even be a few missing. If you already visited our photo booth today, it is likely you were affected by this."
The crowd's excitement from a moment ago had dropped at the news. The air filled with concerned murmurs and frustrated groans. Looking across the crowd, Winston cleared his throat.
"I can see a lot of you are concerned, but I'd like to reassure you that if something is wrong with your photos, you will get the opportunity to retake your photos free-of-charge. Now we would really appreciate if you could come by the photo booth as soon as possible and help us address any issues in the photos we have already processed. We apologize for the interruption to your Quidditch experience."
