After speaking with other users for a while now about how frustrating it can be, I thought it was about time to post a suggestion to have commas auto-input for shops and trades. It would make it so much easier to ensure correct pricing of items in shops when manually inputting prices. It would also be super helpful for those offering on trades after pricing out what they owe in a forum sale (copy and pasting their total over to their trade offer).

As always, thanks for the consideration! =)

Couldn't agree more. I'm always so paranoid about mistakenly pricing something without the correct number of digits that I actually have a habit of highlighting the numbers in groups of 3 afterwards to make sure I've got them all. It would be so nice to be able to just tell at a glance and not have to worry about it anymore.

Nooooooooooo! I manually input every price and I loathe this idea. "Helpful" databases suck.

Back when Subeta did do this it caused so many shop errors. It's this way on purpose.

Not every nation uses the commas in the same way so Trades still can be misinterpreted. Users can put spaces in if the number is seriously long. When they make a Trade offer they can make sure they only have so many of the currency on-hand.

I'd definitely like some more clarity, but not commas. If spaces can be added instead, they would be perfect! 134762652 is a lot less legible at first glance than 134 762 652. And 134 762 652 is a lot more clear and easier to understand at a glance for international users than 134,762,652. Some nations use commas for decimals, some use a point, so it can get confusing.

fwiw, I've had someone offer on my trades using commas to manually separate their sP input (I think they offered 13m or something, but formatted it manually as 13,000,000) and the site glitched out - it only registered them offering 13 sP, nothing after the commas they put in.

As someone with dyslexia I would suuuuuper appreciate something like this being implemented. Every single item I price or every offer I make, I count & recount, split the number up with my cursor to count the 0s, etc. It stresses me out lol

It also gives me anxiety knowing that an accidental comma or a copy/paste could turn 1,000,000 into just 1 (I've done it before rip)

I agree there is a problem - I highlight in groups of three as well to make sure.

But as someone with bad eyesight I sometimes have trouble distinguishing between commas and periods so I would still end up stressing out about it.

Sometimes when manually entering I type in the commas to make sure its right, then go back over it and remove them. More work, admittedly, but more certainty too.

I rather like the spaces suggestion made.

YES, YES PLEASE. FOR THE LOVE OF WHATEVER HIGHER POWER IS OUT THERE, PLEASE.

I am really, really bad at reading numbers, especially ones with more than a couple zeros. My eyesight is shit and so are my glasses, so I have to either make an item an asinine price (say, 256,854 instead of simply 256,000) or open the shop search page and hope the price comes up right when I refresh after pricing the item.

Honestly even if just spaces were added, it'd make a massive difference to me. I'm always double-checking high-value items to make sure I didn't miss a zero.

I prefer it the way it is without commas or spaces or anything.

Commas as others have said above are confusing internationally.

Spaces - a better choice. If it's formatted as we type, and we aren't expected to type the spaces ourselves, that would be fine. But I would find it pretty challenging to figure out where the spaces go if I had to type them.
