He just told me to win 2,337 SP
I've spent hundreds of thousands of coins, got a pawful of junk items, and generally wasted my time and money. And I'm just about half-way to completing the quest.
The reward's definitely not worth it. Found a quest I'm always going to skip from now on.
That seems like too-high an expense. Slots do not cost coins, they cost 50sP per spin and it's very hard to spin it that much in the time alotted. Have you been buying (color) Special Coins for the Coin Machine?
Nevertheless, it's fairly difficult to win that much at the game within the half-hour he gives you. I only do that quest during floating-item events, because I can win floating items just by doing all the refreshes necessary to play Slots. Even then I never try for anything more than 1K.
My guess is that Slots is run by the same company that runs all the Vending Machine, and are also government contractors so of course Drills shills for them.
My bad, when I said "coins" I meant to refer to currency in its generic form: SP.
However, I do agree with you. It seems impossible (or at least very unlikely) and far too expensive...Drills shilling for the literal government makes perfect sense, too.
subetapoints are paper money. You can convert them into their equivalent item here: sP Voucher Exchange
...also Calvin Blackmoon is also probably involved in making all the payoffs.
I hate doing the Slots requests for him, I just end up with a ton of Sporks and almost no points
It can be tedious, but I think the items are good for fragging and recycling. And also, they raised the sp the slots coins give you now. But yes, I see why it is frustrating.
Hmm - maybe an investigation into mergers, takeovers and shell companies would reveal that Calvin Blackmoon has something to do with it. He's trying for an economic takeover of Subeta. :D
Drills keeps sending us to play Carnival games as well. Does he get paid for doing that? :D
PS: I'll have a go if I'm asked to win the Slots Book but I limit myself to 10 spins. Sometimes I get one or a slots coin even if I don't get the book.
There's two different items he commonly asks for one has a one in forty two chance and one a one in eighty four chance, but I forget which. I do what you do now, so I have forgotten.
My guess is that the Ruffie that runs the Lifelike raffle is his and he wants to send us there so he can ask how it's doing when we come back from the Carnival..
I must have spun the Slots hundreds of times for the Slots Book quests and I've only had one sP reward of around 135 sP. It's why I always skip the sP quests.
