So I came across Subeta yesterday while I was browsing the internet and I have been wanting to introduce myself since then.
It's so nice to meet you all! Please call me raindrop or raindroplet~ I am almost in my mid twenties and am a returning university student. I start university again next month, so excited for it! While I am waiting for university to start, I can kill time and learn more things about Subeta! I love insects alot and have a cuddly spider companion called Frosty. I wish he was a real pet but in my country we cannot keep tarantulas as pets nor do we have any :( I don't own any pets but do stuffed animals count? I have so many of them! :D
My favorite movies/books are psychological thrillers especially if they are set in dystopian timelines! As for music, I listen to many genres - some Indie, RnB, Pop, Rock, J-pop/J-rock and K-pop and K hip-Hop. I also love Lo-Fi and game music, especially from Pokemon and JRPGs.
My favorite subeta pets right now are definitely the Yaherra and the experiment pets - and . I really enjoy doing the quests and playing Matlal's Jewels~ I can't wait to participate in the upcoming seasonal events too!
Anyway, I am happy to be here and hope to be more active even when university begins~
- Hello and welcome to Subeta.
I used to have a tarantula as a pet many years ago. There are spider items and insect minions you can collect and there are also wearable insects to put in the wardrobe.
Thank you so much and will look into the insect minions/wearable insects :)
Hi ! Just sticky'd you :)
I'm back after a hiatus!
hey , welcome to subeta! feel free to hmu if you have any questions! 🐝
Thank you soo so much for the gifts! I really appreciate it~ And will do! :)
Hello, !
Welcome to Subeta! I hope you'll enjoy your time here c:
What are you studying in university?
Thank you so much! Im already loving it here! :3
I am studying a Bachelor of Arts in Education, a pathway I never would have considered when I graduated high school and I never thought I would be studying this degree as it's a huge jump from studying Languages and Tourism ^^;
Oh, that's great to hear!
Ohh I see. That's nice though! Education is important, after all. Why did you make the jump to Education?
After a gruelling four years of tertiary education and then failing my Japanese language paper twice, I dropped out and started working casual shifts at this retail branch. It's been two years since I dropped out ^^;
I have been on the dole for 1+ years and had to go to industry recruitment programs. At my last one, they were so helpful and helped me identify my personality traits and what would be a suitable career option for me. My boyfriend's mum also suggested i could become a relief teacher. After doing my career research, I decided I'd like to pursue a career in either teacher aide or primary school Teacher :) If not, I could go into other pathways in the education sector ^^
I like helping people (and kids) and knowing my actions can affect them in a positive way really makes me feel positive and this is why I'v decided I want to become a primary school teacher. Unfortunately I don't have experience working with kids but it will be mandatory in my last year at university :)
Aw that's great! I'm glad you were able to find a career that suits you! Most people aren't able to, and most of the time you really have to just try it out to really know if you like it. c:
Thank you! I agree with you! At first, I was wary of going back to university because of my debt but I know it will be worth it this time! :)
You're very welcome, haha c: Yeah, I know how you feel there. I'm also in debt myself D:
Knowing I have so much to pay back to the government does worry me haha ^^;
But, study and graduate to get a much better paying career than where i am now > Student loan. There are so many pros to going back to university :D
Yeah, I definitely agree with you on that. I'm thinking of going back for a second degree, just not sure when or what I want to do yet.
Honestly, working in retail really sucks. I'm constantly tired and most customers are rude, not to mention the insane time crunch. My hands are so rough now, I just hate it aaaall.
My sister actually gave me a huge telling off when I told her I was going back to university. She saw it as my way of "escaping" my responsibilities and duties by studying :o She also thought I was going to completely quit my casual job to study full-time ><
It really does suck working in retail.. Do you have to upsell items for charity to the customers? I hate doing that the most ^^; Do you work in clothing retail and how long have you been working in retail? :o
Thankfully, rude customers are uncommon at my store. I had to harden up to them last year and learnt to be more assertive. It also gives me satisfaction to ignore them completely after the transaction is over ^^;
Oh that sucks. D: I think she should have listened to you first. If there's a way to improve yourself, and potentially your future, why not go for it right? She should be encouraging you!
No, thankfully. No upselling, I would hate to do it. It's clothing retail. I'm only working part-time right now, and I've only had this job for about a year. I found that I couldn't find a decent full-time job after graduating, one that I wanted anyway. I'm working towards a certificate right now, hoping to get a good office job. Then I'm quitting retail! hahaha
Yeah I think encountering rude customers builds character, and you learn to deal with people like that. It's just difficult at the time, because customers will often belittle you, and say that you're wrong and they're right. It's just so infuriating!!!
I agree! My sister was probably skeptical because I dropped out and she was probably worried that I would do it again ^^;
Oh man I tried applying to office type roles but was not successful ^^; They want you to have experience so those jobs were never for me ^^;
Goodluck with your studies! :D
Oh yes sometimes in the moment I do not think about being assertive to them. And whoever came up with the "customer is always right" thing, they aren't ALWAYS right! >:( But then you gotta prove to them that they are wrong :)
Oh, I see. That makes sense.
Yeah I tried applying to some of those as well, but was unlucky. That's why I decided to do the certificate program, as it allows me to learn specific skills for a specific field of job. Otherwise I don't think I will be getting anywhere D:
Aw thank you! Good luck to you as well!
I'll just tell myself to kill them with kindness, as the saying goes. It's definitely easier said than done, though. Omgsh so true. The customers is NOT always right!
