The point of this daily is to make it so you yourself remember to make a point of coming to visit Subeta. If they have to beg you, then it isn't doing what it's supposed to do and doesn't serve the purpose. The site has another way to give out CSC now, so if this feature is geniunely problematic maybe it should be stopped?

Yeah this is probably not going to happen. There will be no event/alert/widget for the bathhouse. It is a daily you are expected to do the work for.

im incredibly well aware of what the word punishment means and don't need your snobbery, thanks there's an achievement that literally requires you to visit for 300 days. when you accidentally miss a day and are reset back to 0, that is punishment for not visiting the site every. single. day. something was taken away from you because you ""oops'd""

Seems more like a big FU to newer users who may not even know it exists. And a bigger reason to never log back in once you break a streak due to forgetting once (not to mention just let users run your site for you, but hey guess that's none of my business).

I've got it browser bookmarked. When I come on for the day I use the bookmark so it's the first page I visit on the site.

Yeah sorry. Since I am on my phone right now I couldn't link some quotes, but this has been denied in other similar like ideas. I understand the logic behind it but since it is the first link in dailies too, how is circumventing the dailies page make it easier? Wouldn't having a quick back page to other links be more efficient?

A punishment is something that does harm to you. You are not harmed if you don't get an Achievement.

Punishment is a consequence or penalty that decreases the likelihood of a behavior from occuring again. It does not have to relate to harm. The removal of the streak is a punisher because it can decrease the behavior of doing the daily. So again I get why they asked for increased visibility to encourage people to do it and avoid losing their streak.

oh no the dailies page is def helpful, don't get me wrong! i was thinking mostly for bathhouse because it's a daily that requires you to do it every day for such a long period of time and it resetting if you happen to miss it for any reason whatsoever. so having a link to bathhouse specifically listed on the front page just seemed like it would be a wee bit convenient for people who are prone to forgetting c: (i had it up in its own tab for 524 days before i lost my streak haha, so i def know there are other ways!)

I find your argument disingenuous.

Each and every day you get rewarded in a real concrete way for doing this daily. In particular, it is deliberate that the reward you get increases over thirty days. By your logic the reward should be the same for each and every day you choose to go there, because anything different would be punishment. After all if you go twenty nine days and fail to go on the thirtieth day, you lose out on 50 CSC which is two Morty Cards or an entire days' worth of quest-labor.

Either it is punishment by your own interpretation, and it is okay when you say it is and only if you say it is, or it isn't. Subeta is a fun game and it has many different things to enjoy about it and not everyone can and will get all Achievements. There are some Achievements that take a whole ton of work more than what's going on here. Heck the new BHH item requires many months of work either playing Street Team or doing Blue Building Quests.

My strategy is to keep a link to the Bathhouse in the notepad on my sidebar, but it doesn't always work. I get neurotic about it (did I visit the bathhouse today? Or was that yesterday? Should I check the link again? I'm gonna check the link again.) And then just one day, and you're back to square one. But my highest according to achievements has been 161. Your 524 is impressive to me. :)

What I was referring to is the definition of punishment. Which you stated was

It has nothing to do with punishment. By giving people the chance to gain CSC without spending money, they incentivizing going to the bathhouse daily. So I am not sure why you made the jump there that any change in the consequence is automatically punishment. I never said that.

I only addressed how the removal of the streak decreases the likelihood a person will go back to doing the daily. The Achievement is another consequence for the behavior of going to the bathhouse 300 days straight. A reset in the streak is punishment because it prevents you from completing the behavior goal of a 300 streak, you now have to do it all over. The longer the streak you lost, the more a user feels like it is punishing. I am not going to care if I missed out on a short 7 day streak, but if I missed out after going 259 days you bet I am going to be more upset. I am not arguing over the achievement. I am not saying that those who fail to meet the objective of the achievement are being punished, they haven't executed the goal of the achievement. All I was talking about was the streak.

So behavior: Doing the Daily consecutively. Consequences: When done you get a reward as you progress through the streak (Prizes refresh after 30 day cycle), and your streak goes up a day. When missed, you do not get the reward that was due next in the line of progress and your streak is reset to zero.

Basically to punish someone doesn't mean you have to harm them.

I am so sorry for your loss. That is a long streak. I am just glad there aren't further achievements for the streak. Again, I totally get your point. I was just stating that similar ideas for it had be already denied. Now that I am on my laptop I am more than happy to pull up the quotes if you want me to but Amber has already somewhat addressed this on the board.

Yeah there is the notepad, setting it up to be your homepage, an actual reminder on your phone. Lots of ways. It holds the user accountable for logging in to click the button. It is unforgiving because all it takes is missing one day. At least when the site has been down and glitchy they give the streak back.

is it your true and honest opinion that the first use of punishment in this thread was meant the way that you mean it? Not everyone uses words by dictionary definition and it's important to distinguish this.

This is a Suggestion forum, for staff to read and decide policy on if they so choose. You are not posting purple, but this has to have crossed your mind because this is your forum. It's important to realize that if poster meant it the way that you did, that their post should be considered, but not acted on. Your response is not IMO justified. I can see why people don't want to put the bathhouse news but at the same time why is the recycle beast showcased on the news page if they're also already accessable from the dailies page?

In my mind visiting the bathhouse is more of a daily than visiting the recycle beast considering it actually has a daily streak function. I'm not saying i'm for or against this, just offering my two cents.

Also, I highly doubt used the term punishment in the way you're suggesting When i read the first post i had no problems understanding that they meant punishment as a penalty rather than something that "does harm"
