The Ytivi are described as "lithe build, nut-brown skin, dark, straight hair, and almond shaped eyes" and I imagine them being something like the Tuva people of Southern Siberia.. The Tormigard are a fair-skinned and haired indigenous race with sturdy builds and pointy features and I imagine them being something like we think of as 'traditional Russian'. If people would prefer Vikings for the Tormigard, that's fine.

Visitors to Arctic Frost would obviously want some ordinary warm clothing which could stay in Icy Goods but maybe we could have some ethnic clothing, food and various other items from the two races in a new shop. Will add some ethnic clothing photos in a minute.

Traditional Russian

Tuva women

Tuva Men

The Tuva are very similar to the people of Mongolia, including their food.

There's a recent existing topic about the Icy Good shop over in the Items subforum, but I agree completely. :/ The Icy Goods shop needs some TLC. Right now it's got a monopoly on all the fashionable modern winterwear you could possibly want, which is kinda sad considering the sheer lore, worldbuilding & TC fodder potential. Oh there's some ice cream, plushies and beanbags in there too I guess.

Winter trekking gear and supplies for all your Polar Ice Fields adventures.
Traditional regional foods, outfits, armor, weapons, toys & handcrafted goods.
Enchanted adventuring gear (Thermos of Everwarmth, Bottomless Sack of Pemmican, Cloak of Frost Abatement etc.)
More books on ice magic, hearth magics, traditional leatherworking, tanning, hunting, fishing, woodcarving, woodburning.
How To Not Waste Anything - A Guide To Ytivan Living.
Wearable animal-pulled sleds/sleighs, harnesses, saddles.
History books of the two nations living in Ytiva.
Various rune sheets, runestones, charms & necklaces.
Enchanted ice/snow/winter-resistant minions & various critters native to the region.

Melody&;s nice and all, and Alegarten&;s kind of... gone heckin&; vegan, so YEAH. Please bring some more love to the Arctic Frost! :/ Even Shengui Guo gets more attention (mostly b/c of the bathhouse BUT STILL)

And for the love of Bob, please unretire some of the previously retired items. Ideally non-wearable ones & foods. Icy Goods is empty and dull enough as is.

tl;dr - support. More love for the Icy Goods shop!

[edit]Just noticed the topic 180 edit. :P Either way, still support for a new, traditional Ytivan shop while letting the Icy Goods have all of the winter fashion bits'n'bobs.

- Ooops. I didn't see that other topic. I'll change my opening post and the title.

Some of the items you listed could go in the new shop. There's no reason why the Tormigard couldn't have runes because the races would only be roughly based on real world people. Or, if users preferred the Tormigard could be based on Vikings.

Yeah, and I'd really love some fresh things rooted in Subeta's lore. Icy Goods is currently basically a stylish winter gear and winter themed store. Which is cool (pun intended), but not really what you want if you're making Norse or Inuit themed pets.

I love this Suggestion, there's some really cool stuff here, too good for Melody or Free Shop one-time-release.

I've been having some thoughts about the Tormigard. Russia is derived from Rus who are generally thought to have been Vikings from Sweden. Perhaps the Tormigard items could be a mix of Viking and early medieval Russian with some generic Germanic as well - we could then have a replica Sutton Hoo helmet even though it's Anglo Saxon.

I've found photos to illustrate what I mean and will add them to this post throughout the day. My arthritis is bad this morning so it means I can't do much at any one time.

Viking Drop Spindle

Viking Tablet Weaving

Rus 10th - 13th century - most of them are men/warrior costumes. It's a page on Pinterest so you might need a Pinterest account to see them.

Kiev Rus (c. 900)fashions worn in Kiev Rus in 10th - 13th century - peasant women

Slav Medieval Shop Viking Period. A lot of women's clothes here and some men's

Viking Shield Shop - Weapons, armour, clothing, utensils, statues and runestones etc etc

Not gonna lie, at this point I'm down for Arctic Frost to get a whole revamp with more than one minimal page so we can enjoy the lore that's been built for us. Omen Islands, Shengui Guo, Sacred Lands, Atebus, and Delphi all have their own stuff going on so I would think Arctic Frost deserves more love <3

chanting Sutton Hoo, Sutton Hoo, Sutton Hoo. I live close to there and my mother dug at the burial mounds during the 1980s, so the place as a special place in my heart. And the treasures are spectacular - imagine making this or this by hand. By candlelight, most likely. Cutting each tiny section without modern tools, making sure it's perfect... But I digress.

But either way, the Frost needs more love. Not just Luminaire and... whatever happened with the racoon bandit dude.

A Tormirgard city could be fun.

Rarely spoken about, but no less a reality, are the darker trades that bring business to the Arctic Frost. Because of the lifestyle of the Tormirgard, the Arctic Frost is also an excellent place to find cut-purses, assassins, smugglers, and spies.

Maybe there could be a lucky dip shop where we hire a thief. Pay a fee and come back in half an hour to collect an item. Unlike the Hustler, none of the items are fake and you always get something. Don't know what there could be for assassins, spies and smugglers but I'm sure others could come up with suggestions.

The SAI HQ is also in Arctic Frost. Maybe it could have a shop selling James Bond type equipment. We have SAI pet jobs but there's nothing much to put in SAI pet treasure chests.

- Those Sutton Hoo items are gorgeous.

I've been waiting so long for the Tormigard to make their appearance and possibly bring a new location on the western half of the Arctic map. I've always thought of them as a kind of Viking inspired people with elfish features. I might be being too literal with the pointy description though.

Another possibility is having a second map section for Shengui Guo where Earth humans from Mongolia settled - they could have herds of Legeica where they get mare's milk from.

The Ytivi could then be based on people from the far east of Siberia who have a lot of aspects in common with Native Aericans. Photos to follow as and when I get the energy to add them.
