Do you have a friend who likes to have many pets but doesn't have enough slots and their birthday is approaching so you want to gift them a pet slot? I just found out it's not possible.

So I was thinking what if we could gift(/cover the cost) a pet slot for a friend? I personally would liked it but I'm not sure how you all think about it.

My suggestion: Make it able to gift Pet Slots!

I mean, you could always just gift them the CSC to buy a pet slot instead (). Of course, that doesn't help if they have all the available pet slots, but I paid for half a pet slot for a friend's recent birthday that way.

I'm not really in favor of gifting the actual pet slots though. If you can only gift within the current limitations, there are ways to do that now without complicating the process and if gifted slots count above the limit, I feel like that opens the door for cheating and could potentially cause problems depending on if there were also a Gifted Slots limit implemented or not

We used to have the mythical plushies but they have been moving away from actual items with these like perks. I would just gift them the 2k csc personally. If they use it for pets cool, if they use it for something else well hey they still got something they wanted.

I can't see this as a super popular feature, but I don't oppose it.

While it's true that pet slots were deliberately non-commodified, it's possible to buy someone else a potion lottery ticket whether or not they want it or not, and this ticket is not a fungible item. You can't undo it.

I personally would not like a slot foisted on me like this, but other users might not mind. On the pet page where you buy the slot a radio button could be added, and when clicked it would give you the option to type/paste your victim's name in.

First of all, I wish I had a friend like you, that's so thoughtful. <3 I wish pet slots could be given, I've seen many people complain they have multiple pet slots that they don't use, while there are people like me who are still hunting for their pet slots but can't buy csc.

I think staff said this wouldn't be happening - they don't want people to have 200 slots by begging for others to sell/give them their spare slots

I don't agree with transferring already redeemed slots. Those should be account-bound.

You can already send your friend CSC cards, or give them sP via trades if you want to give them a petslot.

NOW. I think having a pet slot lottery/raffle would be cool and I can see people sinking sP and possibly CSC into that. I can also see the option of spending your own CSC to "send" a petslot from the cash shop to a friend being a really neat feature. Not gifting the slots you own, but buying a petslot for them. But I can also see people being a lil sad that they didn't get to choose what to spend that 2k CSC gift on b/c with so many fab CS wearables, you're not always going to want pets.

i don't really see the big deal in being able to gift pet slots..? i'm all for it, sure. if you want to use the excuse of "people will beg for it" you can apply that to literally anything. people beg for items, csc, CWs, etc. already but nobody is like "weh take those away because ppl beg!!" i also don't see why this would have to put people over the current slot limit. like. it's a limit for a reason. if someone has x amount of csc or sp slots still available, then have it gift from those slots. have an option to buy a remaining csc slot for another user if that's a possible function. (literally where did OP state that this was for gifting slots u already own; am i missing that lol)

I don't mind gifting existing pet slots if the recipient's amount of pet slots will stay within their personal pet slot limit. Someone like me who've already maxed out on pet slots shouldn't be able to receive more gifted pet slots for reasons already stated.

Gifting existing pet slots will not be a thing. I am also confused why people are bringing that up when the OP is talking about an item or feature to add a slot. There is no mention of transfer.

If someone wants to gift me a slot i'm not going to complain, i'm always on the hunt for more.

I don't think it should be an item though, if the option is available it should be through the pets page as has already mentioned so that it stays within said users limit of pet slots.

It could also possibly have an option like "______ has offered to purchase you a pet slot, click here to accept or deny" So that its not "forced" upon anyone? idk. I think it could be a good idea if done correctly so that you still have your limited slots, no trading pre-existing slots. etc.

But honestly theres still the option of just sending them 2k csc so i'm not really phased by it all either way.

Because we have that the ability to help our friends get slots, it's called "currency". Give your friends SP or CSC via a dump trade. That doesn't need to be a feature.

I stated the same with currency. Others are mentioning transferring slots amongst accounts which has been denied. That is not the same as having either an item which we used to have, or a feature to send a slot. It's pet slot specific. CSC/SP are not and can be used for other things. This is I want to give you X not Y that you could use to get x or zab.etc if you decided not to use it for what the gift was intended for. So it would be a feature because currently there is no way to do that. I am leaning towards feature rather than item because with an unaccount bound item then you could sell it which may once again justify pet slot prices in Sp but also create confusion amongst those at the limit who buy these items only not to be able to use them.

But anyways I have similar concerns as the others so long as this doesn't allow users to go above their current limits.

I actually meant gifting a pet slot with a limit like the ones we have now:

0 from pet slot plushies and early totems (soft max 10) 0 from pet slot loyalty totems 0 from new slot additions (max 40) 1 from the Millionaire Center (max 15) 7 from awards and prizes

So I was thinking why not one with:

0 from gifted from a friend (max 5 for example).

That way there is a limit and I was thinking a cool down period for the people who gift pet slot or a limit on that as well on how many slots you can give away:

0: pets slots remaining to give (max 5 for example).

I like the idea of with the option to accept or deny a pet slot. And I also didn't meant transferring the slot you have to a friend. Maybe I should have been more clear on that ;)

If you make it a brand new category, it wouldn't be used as a gift the way you're suggesting. It would just be a standard +5 that everyone would have by reaching out to their friends and asking them to buy slots for them. There were be 1:1 exchange threads set up and stuff like that.

If this is implemented, it would have to count these slots under one of the existing categories. Otherwise you're just begging people to exploit the system for personal gain.

Having it's own category would increase the limit for everyone by 5. I rather it just apply to the other categories until the limit is hit.

The suggestion until the current limit is hit is a great one (I like it). However I do not want it to be from my own slots. I want to give my friend a slot but not one from myself so thats something I disagree with.

How about a speciale page you can buy a pet slot (either CSS or sP) where you can only select people only from your friendlist?

I'm uncomfortable with the idea of gifting pet slots. Not quite sure why.

Maybe its because I'm not using all the slots I currently have. Maybe its that I feel its kind of judgy - someone telling me I don't have enough pets to be on a petsite? How many pets I own is a personal thing (for me) and if someone gifted me a pet slot I would feel pressured into creating a pet for it. Even if I had the option of turning down the slot, that feels really ungrateful for something a friend thought would be a wonderful gift.

I don't even like the pet slots we get with quest-a-thons, but I participate anyway because sometimes I like the other prizes, or just to participate, do my bit and be part of the site.

Transferring slots from one account to another has been denied numerous times over the years that it is a just a flat out no now. In the past we could kind of gift slots by giving people the mythical plushies that was the old item to gain slots. That isn't a thing anymore and won't be. So I get the idea of wanting to specifically gift a slot versus giving SP or CSC to cover the cost of obtaining one. This would probably still be tied to CSC because only the millionaire center has SP slots. I like the idea of allowing rejection or a toggle of not being able to be given a slot. Since there are definitely people who don't want the slot.
