I've seen a few boards and had a fair few people mention they're looking to buy 100, 200, 300 etc vesnali coins in bulk. I would have loved to sell them some coins as i have over 15k handed in at Esther's and a couple more thousand in my vault but to set up a trade for 500+ coins at 10 per trade? It's gonna take a while. I understand that there is also the option to just purchase the items the users is after at X amount per coin but considering we have these few:
I don't think it would hurt to offer the same for other currencies. Plus i think a bag of vesnali coins would make for a cute TC item. Forgive me if i'm daft and there's already an item onsite that i've missed that does exactly what im proposing or if its been mentioned before and/or is a dumb idea. Just a passing thought (:
The exists, only it was a achievement prize for a event a couple years back. I personally would not mind reintroducing in esther's store to make selling and gifting the currency easyer.
I think this is a very good idea
Yeah, just bring back the 50 Vesnali Coin item, it already exist.
Bringing back the 50 Vesnali Coins item sounds good. Though I think it could use a revamp to differentiate it from the single coin. A spring themed pouch of coins would be cute, but something as simple as a recolour works too. Make it gold maybe?
This is a very bad idea. No Support. The special currencies in Subeta exist as special currencies to precisely and exactly not be frangible and fungible.
None of the other currencies that are like this should be like Suggested either. Selling and gifting these currencies is not supposed to be easy, and should not be easy. The fact that it is Suggested repeatedly does not ever make it good game-economics. If it was, then the game should be entirely in sP and the wealthy can just take over and fuck over the little guy for even daring to participate like they used to years ago before Subeta went to the multiple-currency model. Certainly that's how the seriously defective and exploitive economy of Neopets works.
Neither the OP nor anyone else is obligated to set up Trades. It takes ten seconds to buy ten Vesnali Coins. If a buyer need more, they have all year to buy them Esther's shop stays open and people sell them all year. If the buyers are claiming they won't do that, then they (presumably) really don't want the currency that much. But if they're asking for a whole lot, then their implicit claim that they don't is a lie. Sellers should be charging them four times what they're worth purchasing one-by-one in order to pay for their labor, The time any seller uses to find those flowers, trade them out for coins, and set those Trades up in order to accomodate them is worth something both in RL labor terms and in game terms of what is "value" of licensed pixels.
Nobody is obligated to turn in all those coins to Esther. The coins do sell on the open market. In fact if you check price history on the fansite SubetaLodge not only do they sell readily one-by-one, they have sold for three times what they're selling for now. By refusing to participate in the open market and refusing to acknowledge that this is a special scrip anyone who participates in this extramarket activity are (either deliberately or accidentally) manipulating the market. This is bad for Subeta.
Furthermore, if it's a regular big deal thing that people have this many coins that they just can't be bothered with, then Vesnali should go back to just one week as intended.
Ah yes, currencies
Things that should totally
Be a complete pain
To sell, right?
And these are the items that ALREADY! EXIST! Seriously, there is nothing wrong with asking for more QOL features. Yeah, staff want us to take part in events, but I have more Vesnali coins than I know what to do with, so if I can't resell them EASILY, I just won't participate anymore because I don't need the excess coins.
I like the idea of bringing the 50 Vesnali Coins into Esther's Shop. Vesnali can yield a LOT of coins and this would make gifting, trading, etc. them much easier :)
I wouldn't mind it.
Just because I bought everything I wanted out of Esther's shop doesn't mean that a newbie wouldn't be interested in getting more than just a tiny handful of things because this is their first Vesnali. Selling higher denominations of currencies would help, imo.
Imean, if a newbie is in the position to spend 5$ to get a quick 55m to get kickstarted buying up higher-tier Vesnali (or other currency coins), I don't see why not. Besides, this site is mostly purely run by nostalgic folks who were there for the good days of Neopets. And the site kind of needs money.
Sure, I could just as well slap my 6k extra Vesnali coins that I've piled up over the last 10 years into my shop and price them lower every so often until they all sell, but that would probably drive all of you batshit, and tank the value of the coins at the same time. Because surprise: it takes a really fucking long time to buy up 6k Vesnali coins from someone's shop, and people want to sell their own extras too.
Would it create an advantage? Slightly, and only for people who'd want to spend their real money, or empty out their sP hoards to get the coins and be done with the holiday. Would it make things too easy? idk, you tell me. I'm sitting on nearly 10k coins in total that I've gotten just by participating over the years because, as lovely as everything is, I'm not very interested in getting all of Esther's stuff even though I love the holiday. I don't have to take part in Vesnali for the next 4 years, at least. Would it get people paying and playing? Probably more than they do now.
Besides, what if I want to gift a friend 1000 Vesnali coins in addition to the flowers I've already given? She's having a shit time IRL and can't participate in Vesnali, and I want to cheer her up. Should I send them one by one? Or 10 by 10 in Arctic Frost giftboxes? ?
The base currency itself is generated by giving flowers to other users. You'd still have to participate in order to generate the currency in the first place, and Esther can always sell the higher-denomination coin bags at a slightly higher price. Heck, I wouldn't mind paying 10% more for higher denomination bags.
Fully support.
I like the idea of adding the 50 coin item to the shop, but please do make a different color so its easily distinguishable from the individual coins. Hell, even if it doesn't get added to the shop, I'd like to see it revamped.

Oh, I can totally bring back the 50 coin item. Keep an eye out on the news for that! :)
I wasn't aware the 50 vesnali coin item even existed or else i would have just suggested that lol. Thank you and everyone who took the time to respond to this with their opinions!
