I don't own this piece of art and the website where I got it from no longer exists, but I'm going to use it for reference. I want some art of a young fox woman similar to this. Obviously I don't want it to be exactly the same, but I need some artwork I have the rights to use. I will be paying with CSC unless negotiated otherwise. Please offer your examples and prices and any extra info you might require. I am also willing to buy art of her looking more furry/anthro than this picture shows.

Hey! I'd be interested in drawing this for you. I have some fullbody furry/anthro samples here and here, and some human/less furry waist-up samples here and here. Other samples can be found in my art shop.

For a painted fullbody (stylistically like the crocodile and the two waist-ups), I would charge 5000 CSC if you plan on using the image non-commercially. For extra info, I'd need to know about character personality, desired props, anything else you need in the image, and what the image will be used for. (Not because I'm nosy, but because I'd want to plan for the image's intended context while drawing it.)

Alright, I just got home from work so I've had a moment to check your examples. My decision? Yeah, let's do this!

Mariel's personality: She is very playful and a trickster at heart, kindhearted and loyal to friends and family. Mariel will not hesitate to put her life on the line to protect those she loves. One could say she's extroverted, very outgoing. Her attitude is generally positive.

For props, I'd like her to have a long sword similar to above, but in her right hand instead of the left. The most important feature for me is her fluffy tail.

Mainly, the image will be used for her pet profile. I don't really have other plans for it at this time except as a reference I'm actually allowed to use. >3>

I'm imagining Mariel to be Italian with some Celtic ancestry. Since her hair is red, I'm not sure if she should be pale skinned or a little bit more tan than the reference is.

In terms of my process, I typically do a sketch, send that over for approval/revisions, then request payment in full once the sketch is approved. I ask that you request any major revisions (changes to the pose, design, props, etc – anything to do with the drawing itself) at the sketch approval stage. Once the sketch is approved and payment is received, I'll move on to final.

Usually I just finish and deliver the final, but since you're not sure about pale or tan skin for Mariel, I can send you a WIP of the commission after I've done linework and laid down flat colors. That way, you can let me know if you want her base skin tone to be darker or lighter before I start painting. After final delivery, I can only do surface-level revisions, such as minor details or color adjustments.

I know that's a lot of info, haha, but if that sounds good to you, I can get started on the sketch!

For her armor/outfit, I went with some Celtic styles and details, but I tried to keep the overall spirit of the armor in the reference you provided. If you want more Italian-style armor, let me know what you're thinking in terms of time period and I can find reference more easily. If you want more "general fantasy" armor, I can do that too – just let me know!

It looks good, but I do have one change. Can you make her face a little more angular or heart-shaped? It's a bit more oval/square than I picture her having. The armor is just fine and the tail is so floofy I love it. :3 I'mma go ahead and head to the trade since I only had the one change in mind.

how much would it be with the flat colors? I want to make sure I'm not overspending before I give a definite yes or no.

Here's the linework with the flats, as promised! I uploaded the image and immediately noticed some little things I need to tweak, but this is the overall color palette I'm going for. Let me know what you think, especially about her base skin tone! If you want me to go lighter or darker, I can do that.

(As you look at the flat colors, please bear in mind that I'll be painting it, so issues of color balance/composition/weight will be resolved then.)

1300csc/13 usd would be alright for flats, since those are quick beta commissions. :) I will be rising my prices when I open an official subeta art shop though so the offer is pretty much for now only (my usual commission price is 40-50 USD for fully shaded fullbody) :)
