Hallo~
I love the idea of a gender neutral crop top--based on posts in the HA forums, there seems to be demand for these.
I do wish the shading for this were a bit more 3D, or consistent with the items on site. THere only seems to be three tones in the image--black (outline), grey (lines for the pocket and wrinkles), and white (base color). While the lineart is very clean, the lack of any gradation (except the bit outside the sleeve) flattens o out the image. I hope this helps!
ohh thank you so much for the feedback!! I wasn't sure if my shading needed improvement, so this is very helpful! [edit]now that i compare it with other white shirts, I definitely see the flatness of my shirt! I know what to work on now, thanks again~
Yay! Glad it helped~
One more possibility to watch for--the wiggliness of the bottom edge. I can't tell what's making it curve, and all of the crisp, clean curves for the collar and sleeves suggest a starchier fabric. How soft or stiff is the shirt, really, and what would make it bend so irregularly along the bottom?
I worked on the shading a bit--- could you tell me if it looks any better? ty ;v; and in regard to the curved edges: I was thinking of a tight crop top that is a bit loose on the bottom so it'd have a slight flair to it...if that makes sense?
Hmmm, the shading does look better, but I don't think making the wrinkles darker is the sole component of your solution. In the female version, I think some shading to suggest the roundness of the chest is needed--the wrinkles are now so prominent they hide the suggestion of breasts holding them up. The right side, especially--the wrinkles going towards the armpit make it look like a protrusion around the armpit is holding the shirt up, rather than the right breast.
The male version is closer just because there are no boobs to hold anything up or suggest under the fabric. However, this makes the pocket attract more attention. Right now, the pocket looks drawn on. The outline should be made thinner and darker/lighter to suggest an indention where the pocket is sewn into the shirt/casting shadow on the shirt, or is a patch of fabric standing out from the shirt. See below images for references:

I think I know what you mean with loose around the bottom--you mean tight around the shoulders, but the chest-and-below area looking more like this item, right? I'd use the top as a reference. A top loose around the bottom shouldn't hug the bottom of the breasts like the current female version does, and the vertical wrinkles should be more prominent instead of the horizontal wrinkles dominating the overlay.
I'd sketch this out but I don't have my sketchbook nearby. Lmk if anything's unclear and I can try to do it later!
