Hi there, I'm wondering if anyone can verify what the wiki says about getting to Carl. I joined a few days ago. I don't have the map to the Omen Islands yet, but if the wiki's right I will never be able to see Carl's. I've been able to view his quest shop but can't accept quests. I'm wondering because Shinwa's quest sends me everywhere and if I fail a step it's over. If she sends me to Carl is it always going to have to be a wash? Just looking for clarification and so I can be prepared. Thanks for your time

I have no idea what the wiki says it's old and doesn't get updated much. Carl is in the Omen Islands, and you need to have completed the Uncharred Land Map Piece 1-9 in the game called Treasure Maps in order to get to his quests and to do his quest for Shinwa. These nine items are relatively cheap and one round of Sarah's Quests should get you the sP to buy them from other users if you are in a hurry and don't want to find them via Random Events yourself.

Shinwa will accept bracelet shards even if you yourself don't get them from a quest. Most users won't sell them to you for a cheap price, but if you need to complete a Shinwa Quest for Achievement or something, you are not stuck.

Hi , thanks for replying. I was more stunned than anything at the idea that there would be a place here that was permanently inaccessible to new players. It's nice to know that the wiki doesn't have the correct information this time. It's also good to know that there's a way out should I get stuck before I get the map, even if it might be expensive. ??? it does not say that. I went and read it, and it also looks like it was I who last made that article, surprise to me! It's a Wiki and anyone can edit it, so you can fix it so it doesn't imply permanent inaccesibility to you? Most quests are ten regular account and fifteen GA now, so that article's seriously old.

My apologies , I had not seen the page you made. I was going off the information on the Uncharted Map portion of the wiki, and I took Carl's attire to mean he was in Pirate Bay. Totally looking in the wrong place. Thank you for clearing that up.

aha. A lot of the lore of Subeta is in the Forums, and not really in the wikia or the fansite SubetaLodge. It's kind of a problem if the Forums collapse, which hasn't been a problem for years. The last collaps is proabably why I went and edited that one article in the first place years ago.

The Pirate's Cove is also part of the Omen Islands nowadays, and it did indeed used to be inacessible to anyone who wasn't a pirate during an old site event like eight years ago. I wasn't a pirate, and I remember only being able to get pirate items by squishing rats on the Freyalise like you can do now. I also sported a Noijitat tattoo on my face for years, just to show I could get one and the pirates couldn't. Over time the Pirates and the Islanders both relaxed their rules on who could go where.

Nowadays if you go there you will see that while they are on different pages, they are both accessible and you get to them from the Omen Islands.

The underground used to be like that too, you had to be a zombie. There is one feature of the site that is also like the pirate's cove used to be. NPC Zosi won't allow non-zombies to do Alchemy at his Alchove, so you will have to wait until next February to get infected (if you want to). I stay unbitten myself.

I'm excited to get to explore both the islands and the Cove; I love that there's so many places to go and neat events on the map. I'm definitely glad I asked here, though I should have read more first. I'm sorry for taking up your time. Thank you for the great information! :)
