So, while doing one Drills quest, I spent more than half an hour clicking on the Spin button for Slots. That must be at least 600 pageloads. While the 30,000 sP is not a big issue for me, the time taken gets really really boring.
Assuming that the Slots cash payouts can't/won't be changed, could Major Drills' Slots quests be given a lower sP cap? Perhaps 600 sP, so that it'll only take as long as to get 2x ? I would not mind spending five minutes on one quest, or even ten if I've got nothing better to do ... but half an hour of mindlessly clicking one button seems like an excessively pointless quest.

Yeah, I support this. I always skip it when he asks for a high total at Slots (not that I do his quests regularly anyway; I find most of them too tedious tbh, but this is one of the more egregious ones). On the plus side though, I never think of playing Slots otherwise so these quests did lead to me getting some of the Slots achievements.
Full support for a much smaller sP cap as I nearly always skip MD's sP Slots quests. They're mind-numbing and can take forever.
Yes Please!! I have been wanting to make this thread for so long but did not want to get chewed out for my opinion, lol.
If its over 2,000 sp I just usually don't even bother with it but I hate skipping his quests. There are a few of them I can't do because I do not understand them so I really hate to skip the slots one too just simply because it takes too long.
Why not deleting The Slots from Major Drills' Quests altogether?
I think Major Drills should stick to asking for slots items. He should only ask for the Slots Book, and main Slots Coins or Oofa Fruit.
I always skip the quests asking for money from the slots. They take so long to complete and are totally mindless. It can take quite a while to get even small amount of money out of the slots. I think the amounts he asks for could absolutely do with some revision.
See also Leviathan Harpooning quests. I skip every one of those.
And before anyone starts with 'NoT aLl QuEsTs ArE sUpPoSeD tO bE eAsY', they are supposed to be fun with reasonably worthwhile rewards instead of being a mindless luck-based drudge, but hey-ho.
I agree with the Leviathan Harpooning quests too. Wish those asked for less as well, maybe 10 or less. Finding 19 leviathans can be a major pain.
No Support.
Nobody is guaranteed to like any quest from any quest grantor. Nobody should be guaranteed to like any quest from any quest grantor. Nobody is forced to do any quest from any quest grantor. Nobody should be forced to do a quest they don't wanna do.
If the sP or other requirements for Major Drills are lessened, then the reward and the chance for a good reward should also be lessened.
Agreed. I don't even really mind the leviathans, they at least don't take that long.
But I've actually timed the slots money ones to see if it just feels long because its so boring, but seriously I've actually run out of time, i.e. more than the 60 minute time limit and not gotten enough sP.
I don't really want to get rid of it completely, but strongly agree that there should be an upper limit of 1000 sP.

I've run out of time while playing slots too, so I agree with putting a cap on the sP requested (1000 sounds good, like suggested)
iirc Drills quests are there to teach and remind you about other features Subeta has to offer. More variety, some new tasks and a lot less repetitive, tedious tasks would be appreciated! And don't anyone dare tell me that it builds character. The only things built by playing Slots for over an hour are either boredom, or a gambling habit. :P
I always skip any quest I am asked to play Slots for. Takes way too much time x_x
Subeta is a casual gaming site. The real focus is on pets/battling, avatars/dressing up, and hanging out/making friends. Arguments like the one you are making always make me wonder if some people aren't too interested in making it a much more serious game than it's meant to be.
I hear similar arguments for leaving just-released items in normal quests even if they're running 10M+ userprice and the quest reward is unlikely to be more than 100K if that, or Freyalise items in normal quests.
Some quests are supposed to be harder than others, but asking someone to get a certain score at Slots is basically a random luck thing and asking someone to get a certain score at Spectrail is basically a...eye-hand coordination test? IDK. If you're given an hour to do something, it shouldn't take more than an hour to achieve for most people, because Subeta quests are generally not designed for people to fail them.

More variety and new tasks could include games where you only have to send in a score instead of completing the game.
You don't have to complete Pete Says for the score to count for a quest. Other games like this could include Caliph's Tomb and Matlal's Jewels.
Just chiming in to say I must be really unlucky. I have NEVER won 'The Slots' by playing slots. or the jackpot.
I agree with this and would like to add that I'd love if the "give your pet X to eat/play with" was removed from his line up. If your pet is in the resort you aren't able to complete these quests, as they are kept at the full line for hunger and happiness. Unless I'm mistaken?
I always skip when he asks for me to play slots because I'm lazy ;) but at least when you're done you can turn in the slot coins for 5k each, so you rarely lose money overall that way!
winning "the slots" is the book item: . I usually win it within 10 or 20 spins, often sooner. I rarely skip that one. Just skip the money one.
I always keep one pet out of the resort and/or minionless if I plan on doing drills quests.
