SETTING The white walls are pristine, kept clean by the various tired-and-worn subjects from the first wave of creations.
Glass walls reveal simple classrooms and rooms filled with plain wooden furniture, including a library, a large area filled with basic exercise equipment, and an indoor pool. The doors are thick, unbreakable glass which can't be budged when the magnetic lock clicks on. A tall steel elevator at the end of the hall opens with a soft whirring of gears, revealing a wall of faded, translucent buttons. The numbers have long been warn off, but all those in the building know which floor is which just by sheer habit. Vents connect all of the rooms together, and the florescent lights follow the natural light-pattern of the rising/setting sun. There are no windows revealing the outside, and to talk about it is strictly prohibited.
Scientists can go where ever they like at any time, having access VIA a key-card that doubles as their ID. They keep this on their person at All Times.
Security Guards (NPC's) are stationed at the door of every room. They have a baton, a tazer (with enough power to knockout a 300 pound gorilla) and for extreme situations, a loaded gun. They wear black vests and visors and never interact with subjects outside of reprimanding or warning. They take shifts guarding the doors, and patrol the hallways at night. They're friendly with scientists, even friends with some, and have their own access cards.
Older subjects often have a list of cleaning duties to complete between 8 AM and 5 PM; They do not need to attend classes, but are expected to follow the rest of the guidelines (example: bed by 8)
THE ELEVATOR[u] (every floor has a unisex bathroom, an extinguisher, and a basic first-aid kit) A1: Classroom, library, gym, pool A2: Classroom, leisure room, cafeteria, Medical aid A3: Shared rooms B1: Scientist &Private rooms B2: Lab results B3: Lab tests (simple blood tests &vaccinations) C1: Lab tests (harsh and brutal ranging from electrotherapy to bone scraping) C2: Fake enviroments; room A is a forest, room B is salt-water lake, and room C is a desert C3: Supply rooms filled with mop buckets, brooms, and cleaning supplies. Basement: ??? (there's a rumor that this is where the feral and derranged subjects are kept...)
GUIDELINES Younger Subjects have a strict schedule: 8:00 AM: Breakfast is served in the cafeteria 9:00 AM: First lesson of the day; either reading/writing, or discussion on how to improve facilities 10:00 AM: Break, leisure room is open 11:00 AM: Gym; exercise and strengthening 12:00 PM: Lunch in the cafeteria 1:00 PM: The library opens; the only books available are basic construction, code of ethics (geared towards being submissive), gardening and religion 2:00 PM: Class; basic maths and sociology 3:00 PM: End-if-the-day challenges, wherein subjects can explore their untapped potential (ex. cheetah-meshed subjects can go running, fish-people can go swimming, there are arm-wrestling competitions, etc) 4:00 PM: Scientists go over test results and introduce new strains/ideas/routines to their subjects 5:00 PM: Supper in the Cafeteria 6:00 PM: Subjects are given a choice to relax int he leisure room, pool, or library, all other sections are closed down and are off-limits 7:00 PM: Subjects are given a warning to return to their designated rooms before 8 8:00 PM: All subjects (save for the ones with their scientists) should be in their room. All areas are closed off, save for the rooms where there's work being done.
Keep in mind! To make this a good Roleplay, you'll need to make Two Characters; a [u]Subject and a Scientist!
4th (Re-Done) generation: maybe they weren't accomplishing what the scientist wanted, or their mind was becoming undone; for whatever reasons, the subject has been deemed a failure. the Re-done generation has their DNA 'scrubbed', they have little to no memory of anything, often confused, disoriented, and lose most of their colour, becoming either albino or washed-out. They almost look human, save for tiny tidbits of 'stuck' DNA (ex. little patches of scales, odd eyes/ears, strange hair) If they're still aware, they'll be re-sent through. They range from 20-40 yrs of age, and range from being cognitive and able to learn, to completely despondent and un-aware.
Each subject is assigned to a Scientist (often called either miss/mister, sir/madame, mentor, teacher), who manages their schooling and health. They are the 'parent' and either play a large, or small role in the subjects life.
Scientists are older adults (atleast 40+ years of age) who're fascinated by biology, science, and playing god. They're not inherently evil, but their moral lines are pretty blurred when it comes to the subjects. Each scientist keeps close tabs on an assigned subject, watching for specific traits and results. A scientist will often have a subject for one of two reasons;
A subject who has reached their potential is often flaunted to other scientists and given special treatments, such as access to for-fun books, better food and more time in their room of choice. They're also given stricter rules on who they can talk to and what they can do with other subjects.
THE PLOT
Graduation is in 5 days; right around the corner! A buzz of excitement and energy is being shared among the subjects as they discuss what they hope will happen afterwards. Classes are more relaxed than usual, and attitudes are cheerful all around. Some guess that they'll be shipped to a new facility, others figure they'll stay behind and take up one of the many odd-jobs around the place, a handful worry that their low test scores mean becoming 're-done'. The ordinarily aggressive and competitive air of the building is relaxed, as cliques and groups share thoughts, dreams and ideas with one another. There is a faint air of concern as the scientists aren't around as often as they usually are, and conversations with them have been clipped and short. There's no time to worry about that though, graduation is on its way, which means music, a dance, and cake (A special treat) is made!
Meanwhile behind the scenes, scientists are in a tizzy. Head-office has sent a notice of termination; there's not enough funding for the government to keep the building functioning and is pulling the plug on the building as a whole. They have 5 days to evacuate before previously-created monstrosities are set loose to take care of any stragglers. The red-letter has arrived in their electronic mailboxes in the early morning, and they're prohibited from warning the subjects, in-case of panic, uprising, or fights. Scientist are urged to save their work and files as they'll be transferred to a new facility, where the work beings anew... Security guards are already leaving the site, and fewer and fewer are being seen around the facility.
Is this still in production? It sounds really interesting!!!
Oh man, this seems to be dead, but I sounds so interesting!
