The job agency in Centropolis has gotten a facelift in the past years, but I think it could use a tiny bit more polish to make it extra spiffy and more user-friendly.
π Add a landing page - link to example Instead of having all your pets crammed into one page, this would enable staff to split things up and make the job agency much less overwhelming.
π Make pet images smaller Fits more pets per row, reduces scrolling.
π Make text smaller and uniform Currently, there are 3 different text sizes - one for the job date, one for the petname, one for the income. Making it one uniform size would make it look cleaner.
π Make it easier to see which pets you've collected income for Fade the image out, or split the main employed pets section into "hard at work" and "ready to get paid".
π Turn the "collect income" link into a button More noticeable, less likely to make your mobile browser to get all weird if you're opening links in new tabs (as you kind of have to do with the current system).
π Make it so the "collect income" button doesn't reload the page Click "collect" button, see stat gains & income in a little green popup on the side (like the one you get when you change vault categories). A second or two later, the next pet slides into the place of the pet you've just collected from. The one you collected from vanishes/fades out quickly from the "ready to get paid" list and goes into the "hard at work" list. Repeat until you have individually collected income for every employed pet that's ready to get paid. More mobile-friendly, more friendly for people who just want to collect their stuff and go without opening 40+ tabs and straining the servers. If you want to open all of the tabs in a new page, however, you'd still be able to do it, and get the respective income & stat gain messages displayed as usual. This is potentially useful for users who use browser extensions to reduce hand & wrist strain due to excessive clicking, and for users who have all of their pet income pages bookmarked for the sake of convenience.
π Gather all Gather All would ideally be a GA-only option. Gather All takes you to a separate page with the total sP earned & stat gains listed for any pets that gained stats. If having this be an sP influx is a concern, possibly have the boss take a percentage cut of the total income. If Gather All could be a non-GA option, the boss would take a bigger percent cut for non-GA users.
π Income log Income log lists income & any stat gains gained today and in the past week/month. This page would mostly be for the sake of statistics. I'm sure there are people who would be curious on the average number of stat gains per month/year, or which stat this pet was gaining most often. This idea entirely depends on if this data is already gathered and stored or not. If it's not gathered and stored, just a 3-day log would be perfectly fine, purely for the sake of seeing what stats you've gained if you've been rapidly clicking "Collect Income" and missed the little popups with stat gains.
π Separate employed and unemployed pets into two different pages Scrolling is a heckin nightmare, fam. :c
π Clearer, colour-coded display of jobs that your pet qualifies for & required stats Stats requirements you're lacking in red. Stats requirements you meet in green. The jobs list is long (and will likely get even longer!) and the pet stats are at the top. I don't want to keep scrolling up and down to see if my pet qualifies for the jobs at the bottom of the list before I click on them and get disappointed. If it's possible to implement, this would be great for quickly getting a pet hired for some of the higher-paying jobs it might qualify for, or just for telling at a glance what jobs your untrained pet qualifies for.
π List pets eligible for a promotion on their own page Opening every pet individually, clicking "get a promotion" and then going back and repeating 10, 20, 60 times is tedious, boring and frustrating.
π Switching jobs This could just be me, but I find it kind of odd to quit a top-tier job, but have no boons for getting hired at a new spot. If your pet meets all the required stats for it, maybe have it get a small boon in the form of being able to get hired for a second level job immediately instead of starting at the very bottom of the ladder?
I very much dislike pretty much everything suggested here. No Support.
Nobody needs to make their pets work to gain income, and the amount of income gained is small versus other ways to earn sP. Jobs are and should be for color and the RP of it and not to be min-maxed.
No landing page is needed, because your pets will not be changing jobs all that often: by the nature of the way that jobs work, they can't. Those of us who really don't want the landing page will be forced to do extra clicks every single day. If you wanna not have pets fill your page, the page shrinks nicely with your browser magnification. No site coding is necessary for this. The texts were quite specifically suggested by many users to be different. I like the proportion of text to image as it is. Making it smaller makes it hard for those of us with vision problems. If your text is too large for you, change the default font size on your browser settings, don't make everyone else squint. The different font sizes makes it easy to see where to click. Gather All has been Suggested before and repeatedly shot down, you are meant to do some work to earn your income. There are user-created forum pages with job requirements on them. Making it even easier to find out how to minmax jobs pretty much defeats the role-playing portion of the job center, as does automatically telling whether or not you've collected or what you qualify for. Doing all those automated things would seriously strain the servers.....
I'm pretty sure there used to be a landing page - though I could be wrong. The only way I'd want that is if they added a "collect all" button.
Would like to see smaller pet images on that page.
Make it easier to see which pets you've collected income for - yes please.
Other suggestions, not really into them. I'd also be concerned about making the page load much slower with all the info to be gathered. What job you qualify for wouldn't be much help because, for me anyway, the issue is what path takes me to the highest income and that's not necessarily related to what entry level positions my pets qualify for. Its a combination of income down the road vs. qualifications for promotions and which things I plan on training anyway - and none of that is based on entry level qualifications.

@ lypsyl Regarding the max income route - ohyep, if you're already an established player and you're looking to get the max gains from jobs possible, that's where guides come in handy. Not everyone is going to play that way, or go that route immediately. If you're a new user trying to get some of your pets hired after training, it can be very easy to get lost among all the numbers, and annoyed your pet doesn't qualify for the few random jobs you've tried. That often leads to people forgetting that the job agency is even a thing. So I think making it clearer would be nice, especially if your pet has some stats to begin with.
As for the data, that all depends on how much of that is already collected. If it's already being collected, I imagine it's just a matter of making the data available to the public. If it's not collected, then just a 3-day history so you know what kind of stats you've gained would be nice! I'm mainly including the income log as a suggestion because of the proposed popup for stat gains. That little message tends to vanish pretty quickly, so an income log would be good if someone can't keep track of those messages. [edit]Also I get the feeling that my words may have failed to word correctly in the first post. I'll see if I can clear a few things up tomorrow, brain is jello right now. [edit]I've edited the idea with collecting income and hopefully clarified things a little. [edit]:P Sleeping does a brain good. Clarified the first post some more.
Yes to everything about collecting income. I didn't even bother collecting it in like... a year, cause it's way too much hassle.
My pets make 18.090.000sP a month, so I wouldnΒ΄t say thatΒ΄s a small amount.
I collect income every day so IΒ΄m used to opening new tabs ; but changing it into a "collect your income"- button (without loading a new page) sounds like a nice idea, esp with 40+ pets. Thumbs up :)
