Occasionally when I invite someone to dance, I will get the confirmation pop-up from a different HA.

~ I have noticed this too! I thought it was strange... My guess is that it is some sort of cache issue? People change outfits but the dancing outfit (HA) that they started with at the beginning of the event is what shows up when dancing. That is just what I have observed.

it would be interesting to find out what is happening.

[edit] also someone I was dancing with... their avatar is just a little box in the upper corner now, where it use to show up... until the last few days. so strange
