I know some people aren't a big fan of the event tab, but I find it useful for keeping track of threads I'm following, replies and comments, and when my pets get out of training.

I don't normally have a problem with too many events but during this Masquerade they're driving me a little batty. I understand that some people will want to see that their proposals were accepted or that they have someone new to dance with, but for me, once I got the achievements with Boudewijn it was no longer relevant. I've found that I can just refresh on this page until I see a 404 to make sure I've accepted all my dances, so I don't need an alert every time.

What I'd like is a way to opt-out or mute certain events. It could be a toggle option even, so I can turn it back on when I'd like.

This may also require recategorizing some events - Masq-related events are currently in the "Other" category, but so are many other things. Once you have 20+ events it becomes impossible to sort through them to see if there's something that actually matters. Heck, it doesn't even take that many to become overwhelming.

I usually have a smart sideboard but I can't do that with this event. Still, seeing the number next to "event" gives me a little anxiety. Did someone reply to one of my posts? Are my pets ready to be retrained? Nope, it's just another five dance events.

I second this. I'd love to mute the Morty Card and shop stocking ones especially if I had the option. I know I just used the Morty Card, I don't need an alert saying the card was used! Some events aren't really necessary.

Agreed - at the very least I'd like an exclusive event/holiday section where you can feel confident just hitting the trash can icon and deleting all holiday related events with a single click.

when you say "shop stocking ones" are you referring to shop sales, because you totally can shut those off. Go to your shop(s), look for the Edit shop link, then look for "Receive Events:" and select no.

Yeah, I've had mine shut off for years. I don't remember how I first came across them - might have been poking around looking at all the shop options, or maybe read it in a thread once. Super helpful though.

I do use the "shop profits" widget though, that sits on my dashboard and I can glance at to see if there's any major sales and also links to the profit button. I find it way more helpful than events.

I would also like to nominate the events for the shop discount buff (both starting and ending) to get an on/off toggle. It is already visible in the user info section of the sidebar and it lasts hours longer than your daily restocking/questing is going to take anyways. Also maybe shorten it to last maybe like an hour, you get it pretty quickly when buying from npc shops.

Also maybe a reorder of event catagory's is indeed past due. Lets look if I can make some sensible catagory's (the catagory's might already exist exactly this way but I have no way to check.

-Direct communication (comments, smail, direct pings, sticked with a sticker, gift center gifts, communication around tickets) -mass communication (group pings, admin posted on thread you posted on pings) -shop sales (sp and csc sales from your user shop, sales from your CW shop, trade center communication) -event related (kisses, flowers, dances, gifts under the tree, your zombie skin is done) -npc/site communication (fine fabrics, training center, resort, nobody wanted to trade with you so heres your shit back) -buffs (bonus quests, shop discounts, morty cards) -CW communication (CW shop events, slotting messages) -Misc (Plot messages, misc events like forum gift boxes)

Or something, I'm shure there's other good ways to sort all these things.

I like my events. I wouldn't mind the Other category having a few things moved out of it into other categories though. Holiday and Buffs could be their own categories, for example.

A different category for the event events would be more than welcome in my books. Basically, anything that has a potential of improving an event in the long haul has my support.
