I put (serious) in the title because I know the question could be read as snarky or complainy, but I legitimately want to know because I don't have a lot of time to spend waiting for pages to load.
This is my first Masq (in 8.5 years!) and I'm wondering if the lag is a pretty consistent characteristic of the holiday or if it's just something we've had to deal with this year. While finally being able to purchase items in the menagerie has been fantastic, everything has been taking a really long time and I've been getting increasingly frustrated because I've spent a whole lot of time here doing little. The phrase "spinning one's wheels" comes to mind.
I have all the faith that the Subeta team is on it and is working hard to get the lag to dissipate, but if this is something that basically always happens, I'd be happier knowing that and preparing to spend less time on the site until things settle down.
OTOH, if this is just a minor hiccup, I'll keep trying to work around it. :)
Short answer is yes, but really not nearly as bad as its been so far. I'd give it another day to settle down and the lag should be manageable. It will be a little slower than a typical day, and there may be pockets of bad lag, but for the most part the site should be playable.
However, the lag has been pretty bad even without an event the past week, so no guarantee that it will ever be normal. That's just what's happened in previous years.

usually one feature or another will crash the site entirely within the first day so it's better this time I guess? Anyways right now the site is blazing along pretty quickly.
Thanks for your responses! The site is doing much better now, so I'm cautiously optimistic. I just didn't want to get my hopes up if it was going to be a recurring behavior. :)
You are welcome. it's a good bet that when they release the second batch of items in the Menagerie that the slowdown will happen again . I dunno if you change your dancing costume like I and others do, but it pays to make and save them ahead of time because sometimes a new item or everyone changing at the same time will crash Wardrobe. Other than that, there probably won't be a slow down until the last day with last-minute dancers trying to get those last trinkets.
