I wanted to toy a little with making some cw content (not sure if this is the right thread, but looking at the cw thread, it seems it's all finished stuff being posted there so)

Esp since I'm hesitant about wanting to meet guidelines?

I made another attempt on hair but I wasn't liking how it was looking/turning out

Hullo! ❤️ First, I think it's adorable. I love the way you've done the spots of coloring and the ombre is a pretty choice. I have seen you / your art recently as you were working up the nerve to get into Subeta's art world -- I saw you because I lurk the SB! Hi! waves awkwardly -- and I think your art style is really lovely and unique. ❤️

[box=#efebe8]For starters: have you investigated the pinned topics in the Custom Clothing forum? I've been perusing the extensive The Official Illustrated Guide to CW Denials which is a difficult read. It's half-part encouraging, half-part discouraging in a special way. It's intended to help you know what to avoid but it can be intimidating viewing some of the submitted CWs that have been rejected and the reasons behind them.

Also, I am not sure if this is the right thread to post in if you're truly wanting feedback re: a potential CW submission. 0n0 I don't think it's in the wrong place but it might just be better suited elsewhere. Maybe a minimod could weigh in but it might be better off moved to the Custom Clothing: Discussion forums? (If you think so, I'm pretty sure you can ping/ask a mod to move the board for you~)[/box]

I'm sorry no one else has responded to your post yet. I've been looking at all the CW-related threads recently because I have been thinking about working on a few CWs as well, so I don't honestly have any real expertise (haven't been through creation/approval/denial myself) but a few things come to mind immediately when I look at your WIP... So if you're specifically looking for critique on meeting guidelines and not being rejected, I could quote some of them for you that I think might be relevant to your WIP so far? Or if you've an updated version of this, I'd like to see what progress you've made. :3

Regardless... I hope you continue working on it and other pieces to submit because I think it's definitely looking interesting so far. And with what I've seen of your art, I think you'll be a great CW artist, with neat new ideas. The good news is that you'll always be told why your submission was rejected if it gets rejected! And you can always resubmit. From what I can tell, the Custom Clothing forums/users are always up to give suggestions or pointers on how to fix up or correct art to resubmit.

Hopefully more people (with actual experience) will start sharing their thoughts with you soon! And if you have any questions about stuff, let me know. Always up for discussion!

I don't know much about CWs, so I can't help with that, but I really love that flower-hair idea and the colors! Maybe the black outlines would look better if they were thinner, though?

Oh, cool. ❤️ Yeah, just make sure the lines are nice and clean. They're definitely looking better as far as thickness goes!

As for interest: For the most part, it's not really my style for HAs. Personally, I likely wouldn't purchase it, since I don't see myself using it that much.

Something to be a little wary about is the overall style? Since it may not match the look/feel of a lot of items on site, it may be rejected for that kind of reasoning. Again, I don't know how strict they are on matters of the art style, so it may not be anything to worry about as far as denial/approval. There are lots of tutorials and information about "subeta style" in those pinned threads in the CC forums that might help you there, though.

If it is approved, it may not be extremely popular, again because of the style? x/ It's pretty and it's different, which is great, but I think -- as far as popularity/interest is concerned -- you'd have to think about: what items already go with what you're making? How easily could this item be incorporated into an HA design? How would people use this CW with other CWs or items currently on-site? I know that's part of the fun of HAs (how to use a wearable, in what ways, unique styling and such) but most users match colors, styles, themes, and/or patterns. So, if your item is too "far out," it might be difficult for most users to design a cohesive HA with your item. Which means it might not gain a lot of interest or sell really well. Does that make sense to say? ;w;
