If I need show it, I'll do that. My theme is something I've wanted to do since the first I participated in. My HA is supposed to be a hologram, steampunky of sorts. My goal with the trinkets is towards a Yunium Key. Though I'm not interested in any Steamwork pet at this time.

Cool! Looks like you're all ready! Are you getting the Yunium key for a gallery, then? Years ago, I used to have a gallery with Masquerade related items, but eventually ended up taking it down because I needed the sP for something.

My goal for trinkets...hm... I'm not sure the number -- what I'm going to aim for is enough to get at least all books available this year for all 21 of my pets. Usually can turn my lounge trinkets in for Steamwork, which helps.

I am betting Masquerade takes off this weekend, which is going to be tough for me because it is grocery shopping weekend for my husband and I, and I'm going to this concert by a band called Little Texas. (They are a country band that was popular in the 1990s.) So while I'm praying for the event to kick off ASAP, I also know the minute it does I'm going to want to drop everything to get online.

You mean battling an event opponent? I can't remember if there are any for Masquerade. I know one year they had ....blanks on name Oh yeah....Wyrmgear. He was made into a permanent opponent, though. I sure do hope there are some, because I'm building me an army (or trying anyway). Today, I was fortunate enough to able to obtain the weapon that I've been trying to get since it was released. So, pretty thrilled there!

Edit: Wait.... I bet you're talking about that goofy character that cuts into our dances. Oh yep, definitely want to steal his Steamworks Trinkets. Boudjewin or something like that...

If you look closely... I actually have 3 seal companions! But two of them are camouflaging a bit near my feet.

Yep, I see all three of your seal friends now! At first I just saw the two by your feet, but now I realize there's a little one up by your shoulder. So adorable! Now, if I could just take those seals, my Victorian looking cat, a sloth, a dolphin and a koala and take them all to the Masquerade, then I'd be happy. Unfortunately, I've been told I'm not allowed to smuggle the koala into country, darn!

My only concern is whether my HA would show its background. The translucent effect includes the bookshelves. Otherwise its the character Ahkoum[sub]778[/sub] in alternate attire.

That might be another reason to work toward the Yunium Key. I know you were wanting one. The pet I'd be so thrilled to see (new species though) would be a koala type. And I know during the scheduled downtime a few days ago someone did bring up a possible new Subetan land for the future, so, you never know.

I wonder, are you having as trouble getting around Subeta? Seems like it's taking forever to load pages, and I've tried two different browsers. Wondering if it's just me.

I'm not seeing much lag now, earlier it was heavy. I'm glad to have commented first, I expressed in steampunk terms. I love those terms, sandgrain technology, light gun, analyitical engines.

But then again, I'm not on much during daylight hours. Plus I prefer to keep my tablet as background while I busy myself.

I've changed my HA but I have one in the saves for later. I like to dress up as one of my OCs at least for a short while during these events.

I joined subeta two years ago right in the middle of masquerade, so it'll always be the event that most defines subeta for me :) I love it! I'm going to keep working on designing more fun avatars once I collect more masks!

I've never really understood the concept very well. Steampunk is something my husband brings up frequently, but... he talks about how it has to do with pipes and steam and things, which is a little confusing. I do know they've put together a lot of Steampunk items in the Steamworks Menagerie over the years. Some of those are neat.

So, I have to ask because something is really confusing me. I was looking at your forum signature links, and it appears that one of them links to my profile. Is this just some kind of computer glitch on my end, or....... I can't imagine why this would be?

Masquerade is by far my favorite Subetan holiday, too. It's a bit embarrassing, but one year, I actually planned my vacation around it. Yes, that's a bit nuts, I know. But it takes a ton of tokens to get all new books each year to my petsies.

Has anyone managed to beat (or been challenged by) Boudewijn yet?
