Alright, so we're all frustrated because our viruses are having problems and not showing up and stuff (Like mine), and we hate that it's a waste of time when we'd like to be able to get 4 new skins this year.
So I was wondering if maybe, there could be a way to shorten the wait for each stage? Either by paying extra SP, or by paying CSC (To also encourage more people to buy CSC to support the website), or another currency (Like Wizard Tokens or Candy Hearts). That way, we won't have to worry too much about how many skins we can squeeze in if there is an option to speed it up. We did get the "Pay extra Wizard Tokens to get a skin you don't have yet" for Morostide, after all.
Sorry for all the complaining, but I'm in a time zone where a lot of the staff aren't online to try and help me, and I'm very impatient. I don't know if I'm actually progressing or if I'm stuck, and if I become no longer stuck, I don't know if it will catch up to where it should be since I got the alert last night, or if it will only start to progress from the time it appears on the avatar.
I don't think anyone should have to pay to experience something like this, I think that would really deflate the fun of the event (especially the naming tradition.)
but personally i do think the initial infection time should be shortened by a lot. OR at the very least, if you pick strains from previous years, they should progress twice (or thrice) as fast as they originally did (since those unliving have been around longer, the strains are more virulent, idk. it could be worked into lore.) I think if a person has been actively playing and participating since the beginning of the event, they should totally be able to get the 4 new strains +1 extra (or 1 new strain and 6 old ones) if that's what they really want to do.
Actually, having only the previous years having shorter wait times seems like a better idea, especially since some people do enjoy waiting to see the new strains and how they turn out.
I only suggested payments because nothing on this website can be achieved too easily, like with paying extra Wizard Tokens to get a zapper skin you don't already have (Which can only be done every 24 hours too).
EDIT: Alternatively, if we can't have this as an option, maybe they should have us skip to stage 2 if we have the "Infected but virus isn't showing" error for older strains. I just want that time made up to me =(
The vial viruses run faster - so I've been getting an extra skin each year because of that. But I'm going to run out of the vial options soon, so I would definitely appreciate "old" viruses running faster.

Well, this might not get done until next year now. Luckily, by the time this was fixed, my virus was at stage 2 as it should have been. I was just very stressed that I would have to wait longer.
Whenever there are glitches the event gets extended so I am sure everyone will still get more time to get another strain in. But I am not opposed to older strains being a little faster to get through
No to paying to speed up brand new virus progression. That takes all the fun out of the event, imo. ._. The people with an excess of sP/tokens/insert currency of choice will get all the perks from this. New users get a big fat "oh sorry not you, you have to wait because you're poor".
Big, big yes to older strains progressing faster, though! It's going to be a pain in the ass for a new user to pick a favorite zombie strain among so many amazing ones, plus with new ones coming out every year. I want to say 3-4 strains/skin is the max you can get during Survival if you go for proper skins and not vials, and micromanage your time. So having the oldoldold infections progress more quickly would be excellent.
I am 100% here for speeding things up, however they do it.
^These need to be a thing!! Older viruses take up 8 days, where a new one in the coming out stages is 4!! VERY MUCH hope it’s possible with coding.
As someone waiting very impatiently for stage 8 of an older strain to hit, I would love it if the older ones could be sped up a little. There are only a couple that I still want to get at this point, but it'd still be nice if I could get those a bit faster c:

i'm a big fan of having to do something to speed up progression. maybe the ability to do some quests to shorten your virus's progression by X% of time remaining until the next stage? this way everyone who has time can do it, it can just reset when your virus goes to the next stage (or daily) and it's equal across the board -and- an SP sink. obvs it'd take some time to code so i don't know if this is a better time investment than just setting the older viruses to a standard/shorter time (rather than randomly generated within specific parameters as it seems to be?)
I say yes to this, especially with older strains.
Like a good neighbor, stay over there!

I agree with this for older strains. Viruses do change over time to like the flu to become more effective, so speeding up older strains makes sense to me.

All for it, regardless if it's for sP or with questing.
I am totally here for some variation of this. I love collecting everything on the site and I would love to have a chance to catch up on strains. I don't need to get 10 a year or anything but 5 or 6 instead of 4 would at least make it a possibility.
I do agree that new strains should not have an option like this because it would affect the experience of the event, but speeding up older strains would be perfect and I'd gladly pay for that option as well.
I guess I'm going to be the sole detractor from this, and not because I oppose the use of game-wealth. I'm totally in favor of massive currency sinks. I have a billion sP right now and I only rank 625 so there's a lot of super rich users out there and this would be a way of making them (and me, if I wanted to get infected... but I've seen men rot inside out of AIDS so no thank you for this particular one) drop a little of that away.
Some game-things should be very hard or impossible to get. Getting that billion was very hard. I totally get the "want to collect everything" impulse, but Subeta doesn't need to make everything forever possible easiest always. Pick and choose which strains you actually LIKE instead of just having all of them just because you can.
I like the original suggestion of introducing a way to speed up viruses.
Perhaps users can pay the hustler for a potion which jumps your progression forward X hours or immediately to the next stage? This way if you were really into skins you could skim time here and there from your progression which would let you unlock more skins in a year, without making it so easy it loses it's fun. I envision that you can probably only interact with the hustler in this way once every 12-24hr (12ish if direct interaction with hustler, 24 if purchasable item because then becomes obtainable via purchase from other users) because, of course, this method is illegal and not guaranteed to be safe so he can't draw too much attention... The hustler should get his first "supply" after the new strains finish, so as to not spoil the debut of new skins.
I don't know, if the progression times still have to be long, couldn't they be 12 hours instead of 15? That way, it would be easier to track when the next stages should be. I've had to do a lot of counting by myself recently to work out when I should be finished, and again after the resets yesterday. And it might not be accurate if it takes longer or shorter as well.
I'm just very frustrated, and impatient, it's tedious waiting for stages where you already know what it will look like when it's all the viruses from previous years.
I would love love love it if older strainer would progress faster! Makes me think of events from games as an example, older things cost less to unlock than they would if they were new. It's a big help to those of us who want to collect everything (yes, me, hello, I can't stop myself).
