Today I've been a member of Subeta for 14 years and that's so crazy to me, I can scarcely believe it! I love this site. And the staff never stops with the updates and improvements. It's really cool to have been a part of this for so long. I wish I had been more social over the years, however. Please feel free to introduce yourself and say how long you've been playing :)

I'll be eight years on Saturday, though active only half that time. I've come a long way from the reclusive, indifferent rock I was. I liked the flexibility with so many aspects here.

I intend on getting GA, to allow my further perpetuating without using money. Almost two years doing so.

Congrats that is very impressive. I'd go with the GA if you like the extra quests. If you're more into pets though, go for the slot?

This year I'll celebrate 12 years, but that's not until August lol.

10 years, 5 months, 1 week, 4 days While I'm not always involved I do visit every day and at least random plus other dailies, maybe some questing, and read through things.

Congrats! 12 years here. I always used to do the GA, but this time I did a pet slot. There's only so many ways to get a new slot and I was at the point where my next one would have been a LOT of sP from the millionaire center, or 2k CSC... so I chose a slot lol. The gold account one ends up being worth 1.5k so to me doing the pet slot made more sense.

congrats! n_n you seem to have a good chunk of pets and you can never go wrong with more pets so I'd say a pet slot totem! 8D I just turned 7 years, a mere half of yours, kudos!

Nice, happy 8 years! I was definitely more reclusive too at the beginning. I always do like the gold account idea but sometimes I forget to go on every day, and I always think the gold accounts would be more useful to me over like, a holiday time so I can really nerd out and do the many many quests haha. Although I'm not a student anymore so that thought process may be quite a bit outdated... Haha!

Ohh 12 years is long! And I think I maay be leaning toward that pet slot, even though I feel like I have so many already, it's always nice to have the option open to pick up another if I find a name I really like. But ahhh. So many pets to work on still. Do you usually go with the gold account?

I can relate with that, I definitely go through my phases of being more active, and then of being more in the background but still here every few days at least, also doing dailies and checking the news and some forms.

(I looked at your profile) Linguistics is an awesome subject, I took a class in that while getting my anthropology degree. Awesome!

Thanks, it's cool to see how many people have actually been on for 10+ years. I feel like that's impressive for a website, especially on how much the internet has progressed in that time. Subeta has a way of keeping its long standing members.

Eep that's about where I am, although I usually do go with the pet slot. The one at the millionaire center has reached a pretty pricey point to me too so I think I'll follow your lead. It's like, there are many ways to get them but mostly all expensive ways....

And do you ever have pet ideas in the rough for when the totem comes? I used to always plan out the next pets that I wanted, but now I have so many I'm like... idk!! Hard decision. But it is nice to have the space in case something catches my eye. I kind of like the newest pet but then again, I always like the new pets and later sometimes don't feel as into them.

yay, pet slot! 8D yeah, I have always gone for pet totem because I figure it's the most worth it to me! c: and I usually have an idea of what pet I want, this year, a nice user was saving a pet to re-home to me, so I already had a plan months in advance which is quite unlike me haha xD just too busy atm to work on the pet D: but hopefully soon! I used to do original pet ideas but I kinda don't like subeta "owning" it so I make mine tribute pets now! :3 I have a lot of Twin Peaks ones because I LOVE that show!

yeah, the issue with new is that it is new and the novelty can wear off :l I was super excited about neelas when they first came out and now I'm like meh but I don't want to recolor my one neela because it suits the character well imo.

Most of my loyalty boxes I used for extra pet slots, but a few I used to change my name. I actually JUST changed my name today with my LB.

I hit my 13th year just a week ago - it's been a long, wonderful ride.

hmm, I was just talking about this the other day with a few of my friends. The biggest difference is that there was no wardrobe back then, so it's kind of weird to think about that. I can't even remember when it first became a thing. lol I do remember how cring-ey my first few avatars were though. Yikes.

Oh and how to get a GA, you used to have to actually mail in $5. I remember paying someone 50,000 sP for them to mail in a check for my first GA. Or you could pay to have custom items made for you for the site, like minions or other random things. I never did get one of those.

What about you? Any big things stick out?

Ahh yeah the owning them thing is a bit strange and seemly unnecessary. Do you do other kinds of writing/ character development stuff off site then too? Ahhh I love Twin Peaks too! I was rewatching it when I named my pet Ronette after Ronette Pulaski. I'm trying pretty hard to think of pet ideas, but sometimes I just like to adopt pets with good stats and then think of a story/character afterwards. I don't really battle much because I'm not sure how to have good technique, but I still like to train my pets (for some odd reason.. maybe because I'm a gym freak IRL) and eventually would like to get into battling.

Omg I remember when wardrobes weren't and thing, and I remember when they came out with human avatars; I thought they were SO weird haha. I didn't create one for years. And I definitely recall the cringe ones. The eyes were like crazy and like each one was super weirdly positioned on the face. Good times. I don't remember much about the GAs, but that's really silly and funny to pay someone 50k.. the dedication! I remember when the Blue Building would give you a random event when you visited, one time only, of your Blue Building password, which was like jumbled letters, with the notification that you must save and keep the password for all times because you would never get another one again, and that once you completed all the tasks, you'd have to enter that password, and if you lost it you'd never get in. Also the forums were super strict and there were a ton of rules. I think you couldn't post in anything other than English, you had to post more than 3 sentences that "contributed" to the conversation. It was kind of off putting so I didn't use the forums for a whiiile. I also remember (tell me if you do too) there was like a war, some big plot, between Keith and I want to say... Calvin? It's all a huge blur now.

Oh my goodness I forgot about the shoutbox!! Haha! Totally! There were certainly super active people on there who seemed to be the main users of it. And I relate with the being in the background. Like I have only one of the forum star things and I've been on so long, and then I see users who have been playing for like 2 years have so many and I'm like geez do I really post that little?

sadly, it's all in my head for the most part! xD I started writing a book (I mean who doesn't nowadays?) but I can't get into completing it :c

There's some really good battle guides on the battle part of the forums! A good generic strategy is a freezer the first round, then when frozen do heavy damage through a bomb type weapon, then when unfrozen zap one of their weapons useless (soma tablets or recycle blaster when on a budget or ideally both :D), and then chip away with two weapon staples. That's already 6 of the 8 slots. Carry two bombs instead of 1 and that's 7 and carry a healer, that's 8 of the 8 slots.

I wish I was into gym irl haha. I am a couch potato who likes too many movies. xD
