I'm unsure about that subject line.

Anyway, I go by Mothii now (though my previous username was DangerousCake) and while I've been a user on this site for a long time, it's only on a technicality. In all honesty, I have only probably actually played a few hours, as no doubt you can tell from my lack of... well. Everything, really. I don't even have a wishlist. (Have been advised to look at other's wishlists, though, see what I have to work with.) I'm rambling. The point is, total noob, but I do know a fair bit about proofreading.

Grammar, sentence structure, typos, I've always wanted to help other people with that sort of thing. Though I haven't read anyone's pet profile in a long time, on any sort of pet site, I have read a fair bit of fanfiction, and have been turned away by formatting, typos, misplaced words, et cetera. I don't really have a creative bone in my body (Character creation isn't really the issue, if I have motivation. It's the setting that gets me, every time.) but I can totally help with the simple stuff. I also plan on "researching" a bit to see what the general user base finds... well... popular. I can't help with coding, or templates, but the words I can.

So that's what I'm offering, I suppose. I have a lot of time on my hands, a rampant case of insomnia, and know a little something about... something. Problem is, I don't know how to go about getting some sort of compensation for work? Honestly, I would probably work for free on smaller "projects", but people keep telling me I have to "put value on my effort" and other things like that. x amount of effort = x amount of... stuff. I don't know how this works, and clearly this wouldn't fit into the Shoutbox. I do want something I can go back on and use as a reference, so forums it is! Even though just writing this is giving me a whole lot of anxiety. Yikes.

Feel free to tell me that I sound like a pretentious jerk, my services aren't warranted here, or other quote unquote negative things. I'm just trying to figure things out. Any sort of commentary would be helpful, regardless of the spirit/connotation behind it. Also if anyone feels like infodumping on how the economy works on this website, I would appreciate it. I can barely comprehend how the US dollar works, so be gentle?

I think... that's all I wanted to cover. Time to stop obsessing over the contents of this post. Yep.

I couldn't really help you with pricing your services but I can give you the rough conversions of currency options you could charge. By the rules, at least one slot of your services has to be for site currency. The two popular ones are sP (Subeta Points) and CSC or (Cash Shop Credits). CSC is the currency you can purchase with USD so you have a standard rate there. 100 CSC = 1 USD. The current market rates make this the conversion 10 Mill sP= 100 CSC= 1 USD. That can fluctuate though and seems to around holidays or the infamous Black Friday when most things in the Cash Shop go on sale.

Proofreading is something I would imagine people would be interested in. Since you commented me, I would consider it right now for Newbie, though she is a work in progress now for sure since again her information is highly outdated. Not only that, I have been informed of the character limit for profiles which means I really need to trim it so I can even add new information. I would look to see how much time it would take you to identify errors and then tie that to compensation. However, I wouldn't think it would be very lucrative for USD right now. I would imagine you would have more buyers for sP or CSC. Hope this helps in some manner. Good luck!

I would personally pay between 500-1000 csc for it. Depending on how long it is. Do you write stories?

I greatly appreciate it! I do agree, the information on Newbie is outdated and needs refreshing, for sure. Tying compensation to time would be a good idea, on the other hand pricing based upon length is possible. Regardless, thank you for the conversion rates! (Also, clearly didn't read the rules well enough; had no idea that Subeta even had rules for pricing services. Or maybe I saw it and disregarded it? Honestly, either is possible. Definitely will be going back through the rules.)

I am not confident on writing stories. It seems like every time that I actually sit down to write something, all ideas dry right up, or seem too cliche to even bother writing about. Also, my tone tends to go all over the place. It's a problem. Besides, I am of the impression that my stories are remarkably boring. It's infuriating.

If I were to start proofreading, though, I would definitely have to brush up on my semi-colon usage rules. It's like my brain's a sieve when it comes to semi-colon rules. I've been taught the rules in three different classrooms within the last four years. They're there for a few days, then gone again. Ridiculous.
