There might be a few others of these lurking around but I decided to throw mine here as well. These will be updated as requests for them come in, either by friends or by other users.
Things to know
- These are set up to have 'clipping layers', if your art software doesn't have this these may appear a bit broken or funky.
- These are for free use but not free to claim as yours! The bases belong to the site and the shading is mine, please don't claim otherwise.
- How often this is updated depends on commissions or postings, feel free to post some you want redone.
How to work the files
If you aren't aware or haven't used to clipping layers, overlay, or multiply these files may be kind of confusing for you. Not to fear, here is a little bit of help! A clipping layer makes it so anything on top of the 'base layer' stays in the defined area that is colored. The files are set up like the following, labeled and everything for help.
Outline - Your outline layer, this layer is your darkest layer and the overall outline of the pet. You may keep the outlines black or change to darker colors of the pet.
Shine - Your hair shine layer, set to 'overlay' changing the color of it like the regular lighting layer should make it fine if white doesn't fit properly. With this one it's set a bit bright so it might not.
Lighting - This is your lighting layer. This layer is auto set to white on 'overlay' to help with color balancing when you add colors. You may change it to a lighter color of your pet if you wish, but white should usually be fine. Set the layer to 'Preserve Opacity' to change just what is already colored.
Shading - This is your shading layer. It's auto set to 'multiply' on a kind of purple/blue color. This layer often needs a color change as the set color can off-balance warm colors and look funky. Much light the lighting layer setting it to 'Preserve Opacity' will allow you to just edit what is there.
Base - This layer usually doesn't need to be change, however some like to use it as the base color layer and continue to add clipping layers of other colors on top of the base.
Personal preference, I would add your color layers all above the base layer and label what colors are what on layers and breaking them up encase of mess ups. but do whatever you're comfortable with!
What I need from you
What i need from you to make the pet is either the 'psd' link somewhere to download to start linework over it or a screen shot of the pet in question within site allowed pixel frame. I will also need the name of the pet type in question to properly add here for later.

I don't really have anything to offer and I know this is a freebie but if by any change you could make the mouth look similar to this, I would definitely come back to tip when I've saved up! (or get paid the 15th) Obscurity
:) I can put the smoke on another layer so it can be added/taken away encase you ever change your mind about it. It'll be a little bit as I got some commissions but I'll ping you as soon as it's uploaded! No payment wanted or needed, this is more so the community itself also has the bases done and properly available for everyone.
