Some people really, really like their fonts so tiny and colour schemes so pale or neon that i can't make out anything, or get eye strain while trying to decipher their profiles/pet profiles. I know other sites have toggles for these sorts of things, so that's my suggestion :>

Support. Shop layouts can be disabled, so it makes sense to have the same for pet/user profiles.

The best way to be happy with someone is to be happy alone. That way, company is a matter of choice and not a necessity.

(My comments only apply to pet profiles, because I don't understand how user profiles work at all! And I'm assuming that since staff is redoing how pet profiles work, the toggle wouldn't be implemented until the new profiles roll out. In fact... is the toggle something that's already going into the new profiles?)

Anyway, I'm not sure how such a toggle would work and still maintain the whole point of pet profiles - to convey the personality of a pet? I mean, I suppose the toggle could remove everything in the "description" area of a pet profile and thus take out the custom CSS, but then the pet's story would be gone too.

I guess as a "pet person" I'm always interested in seeing the profiles as the owner intended them to be seen, and I'm not clear on why you'd even look at a pet profile if not to see pet stories and unique layouts. I zoom if the text is too small, and if the colors are unreadable, I highlight the text as a work around.

BUT on the other hand, I can see why this option might be needed for accessibility (and maybe I'm overreacting because I thought the original post was wondered a little harshly). If that is the case, then support. If not... I can't say I support it, but it won't bother me if it's implemented. It's just not a feature I would use.

That's the thing, i WANT to read the stories, but i physically can't, and on many profiles, even highlighting doesn't help because the contrast is so faint. To me the personality of the pet isn't conveyed when i can't read the profile or see the overlay or treasure chest (because it's all hidden behind 5000 of those hover-to-see boxes, and when i do find one it's never the story like i was looking for, or just teeny tiny scroll boxes in general). It's just pointless, obstructive set dressing to me, although i appreciate the work people put into their profiles. Or i want to press the heart button, but i can't find it because the page has been edited so much. That's why i want it as an optional toggle, so only those of us who need it have to look at "boring" readable profiles.

Considering a lot of pet profiles are still stuck being broken after the layout tweaks, I think this should definitely be an option when the new pet profiles are released. πŸ˜• Ditto for user profiles. I can't tell you the number of times I've gotten grouchy because I had to play hide-and-seek with someone's profile sections because they like the reveal-on-mouseover CSS code and I don't.

Maybe have a 'story box' people can put their pets story into when users have the custom profiles turned off? And maybe have a live toggle so you can still see the art but if you feel you struggle with the reading you can toggle it as you're there and not dig through menus, turn it off, go back to read then go back to turn it on again.

This might be a bit of a pipe dream but I think that's the only way I can picture it going well. Unless there's a total overhaul and you have the 'story box' and also an 'art box' but at that point it seems more complicated than necessary.

New pet profiles?! I just fixed my broken ones... D: Also ditto on the mouse-over profiles arrrghh While hard-to-navigate profiles bug me, Idk if I support being able to turn them off. Being able to read them isn’t integral to playing. If someone profile makes it hard to, say, contact them, sMail is an option. Idk.

At the temple, there is a poem called "Loss" carved into the stone.
It has three words, but the poet has scratched them out.
You cannot read Loss, only feel it.

Yep! This news post contains a lot more information, but there will apparently be legacy profiles so all your work was not in vain.
