face: the face is honestly the most finicky part of an ha for me. if I don't layer everything correctly, or something doesn't seem right, or an unusable expression forms, chances are i'll scrap the entire thing and start over again. I use eye colors and the tint of the face to coordinate my color schemes too [most of the time]. here are my most used face items:
it's all about layering with these items. you can create a hooded lid effect using items for their eyeshadow but not the actual eyes itself - for example, under . you can use different brows to add even more expression. let's say try adding . now we look angry. want angrily embarrassed? try adding , under the eyes and above it.
ever ignore the body tab in wardrobe? guilty as charged. turns out I was making a heinous mistake. here are a few items I can't stop using now that I've started: you can use these to add even more depth to your ha - not only on the face, but in the knees, belly, shoulders and fingers, too.
let's move on to the head/hat region. i'm skipping hair, because there's just too much for me to cover right now. moving on, there is an outright plethora of amazing cw fodder for halos and headpieces the likes, but that tends to leave the classics ignored. here are a few I like to go back to:
ears are one of the easiest layers for me, sp wise. there are plenty of great sp ear items. [item=onyx all-natural plugs (light)]
bottoms? I got bottoms. I got leggies. my biggest tip here is to layer, fancy that. stockings go great underneath pants that offer a little bit of material give, like buttless chaps and torn jeans! Play with opacity.
backdrop is the last tab i'll discuss, because i'm a feeble old devil. i'm not one for full backgrounds in my ha's, so i'll share my tricks: these three items are endgame. it's all about playing on opacity here - the pumpkin fogger significantly lightens every backdrop up. you can pair it with any background and give it a fade effect so that it stays soft against your ha. the metal ruler cuts the backdrop into smaller, cooler shapes, and the capture bottle helps to darken things. have fun with it!
I know I missed plenty of stuff. do you have questions? want tips on different layers or are you hunting for more sp items? feel free to post below, i'll help you out the best I can.
