I'm not sure if it's intentional but there are many items missing from the on site database for items, this includes melody items and collection items when viewing all the items. (You can still find them if you search for them, but this is annoying when you don't know the exact name and are like me looking for items I don't have and not knowing their names) Is this intentional or something that's known?

its intentional. The Melody items are deliberately not there so it doesn't spoil the "surprise."

Not sure what the reasoning is for the collection items. If I remember right there was a time where there were even less items showing. Might be time to make a suggestion topic about it. There are approx 59,300 items in the directory. There are 62,377 official items. ~1160 Melody items and ~1960 collection items.

I get why the Melody items aren't there, but I'd really like to know the reasoning behind the collection items.

i've been thinking about this since i saw the title popup in problems and bugs, and i think it would be nice if the hidden-for-spoilers items (melody, collections) were revealed in the directory after the items went live (maybe in january for the melody items, and after the news post for the collections?)

i know there's a level of control over the directory since we don't see those, or staff items, or custom wears, and there was that whole thing after the battle revamp where we had surprise items that had been in the directory for aeons, so i don't think this would be too much to ask??

except it means someone will have an extra item on the to-do list, and idk. if that's time better spent elsewhere, then... i'd rather it was spent elsewhere lol

the item database is undergoing a HUGE revamp so most likely this feature will be revised

yea i knew that and i thought about suggesting for a timer for hidden items for The New Item Directory but i also... didn't think that would be worth the effort so i didn't bother writing that out lol

Personally, I think the collection items should just be added.

I agree that the Melody items from the current year shouldn't be visible, but would appreciate it if there was some way to add them once January comes around. Programming wise I don't know if there's a simple way to do that.
