Haul is a male Hydrus Mahar... - Pending I just can't click him (as much as I'd like to) and I am trying to make room for names that inspire me... I thought about just putting him in the pound but I want to create this topic for Engage so I decided to put him here temporarily. First come, first serve.

Engage is a Tier 4 male Reborn Telenine. I really like the name but I am moving away from the original concept and I don't have any ideas that fit it currently. You'll need to come up some kind of application. (I'd prefer here, but apps through sMails and comments will be accepted.) The deadline for Engage is currently the 15th, though I may be willing to extend it upon request. New home chosen!

Oh. My. Stars and Enterprises. :o

When I saw the name "Engage" UFA my heart did a little flutter, so you know it's true love. Or at least true infatuation.

I am a big Star Trek fan. The license plate of my car is even TREKKER because of Star Trek (and because I like to travel, so it has a double meaning). I grew up on it and have strong nostalgic feelings for basically all of the theme songs. One Halloween I dressed up as Spock. I've even had a quote on my profile here for a long time that's from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.

(Except Enterprise. Sorry Scott Bakula, but I can't do it.)

In case you aren't familiar, "Engage" is something of a catchphrase of Captain Jean Luc Picard in The Next Generation. It's typically what he says after having the crew set coordinates for their new destination, and often it's the last or one of the last words of an episode. He also often makes a hand motion to go with it.

The Hand Thing:

If I may fangirl squee for a moment here, Picard is basically the best. He's a stern captain, but he cares about his crew and is passionate. He is consistent ("Tea, Earl Grey, hot") but he's also ready to jump into danger at any moment, much to the consternation of his First Officer, Riker. He can withstand torture ("There are FOUR lights!") and yet he is sensitive and feeling, like when he cries over the death of his nephew and plays on his flute. He's not an arrogant lady's man like Kirk; he's more like a father figure. And on top of all that, the actor who plays him (Patrick Stewart) is pretty swell too.

I'd like to make Engage into something of a fan pet for Star Trek and Picard. I'm not doing much with pet profiles these days, but I can imagine just filling his with a ton of Star Trek related gifs. Which would probably look very tacky, but I would make it a page that I would want to visit often for nostalgic reasons, so it would make me happy. He may have a character in my storyline, too, if I can find a way to fit him in. I have a rough idea of him being a sort of long-distance love interest to Ochki, my scientist and astronaut.

The one thing I do consistently do on here is train my pets. It may sound odd, but it relaxes me. The majority of my pets are getting high up in numbers, and so I've become more and more reluctant to adopt pets that do not have a high level, since it would take forever for them to catch up. Anozira, Sprockette, and Wae are all already over level 150, and many of my others are approaching level 100. I like that Engage is already well on his way; he will fit in well with the others.

As far as Engage's look goes, I am oscillating between something starry and something red (Picard always wears red). Here are my top picks right now. If I can narrow it down further before you make your decision, I will edit this post.

Stern, and yet loveable. They're even doing the hand thing!

I'll probably also fill his TC with starry and Picardy things, like tea. I'm generally a slow TC filler, tossing things in as I find them. :)

Anywho, that's all I can think to add. Thanks for reading, and good luck with your adoptions!

I would love to take Haul!! The change I’m thinking of right now is to Darkmatter - the jewels that the Darkmatter Mahar is hoarding would be perfect to make him into a character that is a prideful of his ‘haul’

Send me a friend's request and I will start the transfer ASAP. :)

[edit] I have been giving this a lot of thought and I have decided to go ahead and give Engage to .

I love Star Trek: The Next Generation. (My favorite Star Trek TV series by far.) I had a huge crush on Data when I first watched the show in the mid-90s, but I am getting to that age where I can really appreciate Picard and he is definitely my favorite character now. I really like the idea of Engage being a fan-pet for him, because it is such a signature thing for Jean-Luc.

Yay! Thank you so much! :D

My favorite Data moment is when he's got an emotion chip and Riker asks him to search for life forms, and he starts singing a song about it. Though I think technically that's from one of the movies, not the show.

Anyway, thanks again! ^_^ I'm not sure when I'll have time to work on him, but I'm excited to get started.

My favorite Data moment will always be the moment when he was first introduced. The virtual environment on the holodeck was such a good juxtaposition and it just added to the impact of the scene, at least for me.

Also, don't worry about taking a while! I take forever. LOL
