Hi again everyone! My battle pet Farynheit is currently 25 points away from T9, and I'm in need of some recommendations to build upon/upgrade the battle set I've put together for him.

His current main set is as follows:

The trident is a very recent acquisition, and I feel as though it's kind of made at least one of the other two weapons (the knocker and the gutting knife) obsolete... but I'm not sure which deserves to stay, and which deserves to go. I DO know that my set is lacking an item that acts as a bomb, but I'm unsure of whether or not it'd be beneficial for me to rotate one into my main battle set right now.

I also have various items in my armory that I don't use anymore (or don't use YET) that I'm open to suggestion on.... for example, things like , , (which I use for Cursed Effigy generally), and many more.

He currently has 75AP to work with, and his current scroll set is as follows:

= 62AP

....so.

Aside from the obvious adding some more Cobalt Eternal Scrolls to his scroll set, do you guys have any advice for how to better his current setup?

And as far as upgrading weapons for T9 goes, what sort of weapons should I be looking for? Both in a main, general duty battle set that's diverse enough to tackle a good variety of opponents, and for specialized sets as well... because I currently can't beat anyone from Level 21 onward in BQ's aside from Cursed Effigy, and I have a lot of "extremely hard" Cash Shop opponents to beat as well!

Both cheaper budget items and otherwise are appreciated. I have a Swashbuckle lined up for T11 (I think it is?) when I get there, but that's a while off from now... so any help would be fantastic! :)

One staple for a lot of higher tired pets is

Intricate Energized Helmet

That one is on my radar! Right now I'm struggling with getting the Extremely Hard Tokens to purchase it, unfortunately. I believe I have a grand total of ONE...

Is there any reliable way for me to pick up the Extremely Hard Tokens without being able to beat any BQ opponents of that level aside from Cursed Effigy? I hardly ever get him, and when I do - he hardly ever drops tokens. Maybe there's another opponent I could be trying outside of BQ's, but so far no dice.

BQs are your best way to earn tokens right now, unfortunately. I think there is a 1 in 3 chance after each battle. But as you do them and earn more EXP, your pet will grow so you'll get more eventually.

Your set is actually really good! Apart from the Intricate Energized Helmet, the only real 'upgrade' I can think of is Malignant Rift Staff, which scales with your pet until T11. But right now your set should get the job done. If you feel you need something else, I would swap out the Replica Minotaur Knocker for an Item Hunters Bomb or your Rainbow Vortex.

Swashbuckle and Blessed Trident of the Banished One both block wind so I wouldn't recommend using them together when you reach T11. I would swap one out for Paintbrush Blades. Both are good to have though, so don't feel like you need to get rid of one. They both have their uses.

As for scrolls, General Error is an opponent you want to keep on your radar to earn a Psycho Smasher Scroll. In the meantime, you can make a Cold Blast Scroll by earning the tattered scroll pieces from defeating Mama Mush and Daemon 75 times if you're up for that. My only other suggestion would be to keep some Fatal Fire Scrolls handy. They are cheap whereas other fire and dark blockers can be expensive. If you ever feel you're ready to drop some cash, Shriek of Despair Scrolls are at a good price right now.

If you want to try out some other Extremely Hard opponents to earn tokens, I have them listed here (Careaper-The Gate Keeper), here (Cursed Effigy-Xotl Prince), and here (Atzoatlchu-Vile Carrier). Most have tier recommendations under the 'Basic Info' spoiler, the rest I still need to test.

Unfortunately the only way to get the tokens is beating the opponents. Not to worry though, while it's the best 100% freezer, there's no rush to get it. You'll get the tokens soon enough. Your Scientist Specs will do you just fine until then.

If you were looking to spend money, a freezing scroll might be worth it. The Cobalts are nice, but getting a chain freeze is even better. :)

Thank you so much for the super detailed response! I meant to reply yesterday, but I've been hard at work trying to piece together some of the things you recommended... and I'm happy to say that I at least managed to pick up a Malignant Rift Staff as well as the Cold Blast Scroll (dear god, I thought those 75 battles would never end!) I plan on trying to pick up some Fatal Fire Scrolls, and maybe a Shriek of Despair Scroll or two soon. I'm pretty maxed out on what I can afford AP-wise at the moment (75 out of 77 used up), but it's always good to look ahead as I keep soldiering on having him read books.

Unfortunately I'm still having little to no luck on the tokens front, but I'm trying to be patient about it. Made it to level 23 of BQ's today thanks to Cursed Effigy popping up 3x in a row, and I managed to beat Blossom quite a few times as well. Sadly, I still only have 6 Extremely Hard Tokens. Such a grind. Hoping things will pick up on that front soon!

I do have a quick question about the Malignant Rift Staff, if you don't mind! What would you recommend I rotate out to put that in? Right now I've kept my set pretty much the same, but I've rotated out the Large Gutting Knife and the Replica Minotaur Knocker to put in the Malignant Rift Staff and the Rainbow Vortex (which has served me well in certain battles, but not so much in others).

I suppose my issue there is that the Rift Staff only seems to heal via blessing at T9, while the Knocker and the Gutting Knife heal constantly, 24/7. Should the Rift Staff only be rotated in versus certain opponents for the time being, in your opinion? Or is there another aspect to the weapon that I haven't really considered that puts it above and beyond either of those two weapons?

As it is, I have a hard time deciding which of the three main healing weapons to use (the trident, the knocker, and the knife) at any given moment... but tossing the staff in there has further complicated things. I think the main issue with me at the moment is I'm having a hard time transitioning from an almost "one size fits most" mentality with battling into a "different strokes for different folks" sort of approach to each opponent, if that makes sense. I almost never equip pylonics these days. Never equip shards or anything similar. I think I need to adjust my approach somewhat to give myself a better chance. (Gatekeeper says T8+ on your guide I believe, for example... but I can't even touch him for whatever reason).

Anyway, thank you again! You're a literal lifesaver for my poor battle pet :)

As I was telling Jess above, I did create a Cold Blast Scroll thankfully... so I'm finally on the right track with freezing scrolls it seems! Thank you for the suggestion :)

Having trouble getting used to customizing sets for specific opponents is normal. You can probably still get away with having one set for BQs, but you may struggle a bit, as it won't be as reliable. For instance, I use one set for my T10 right now and some days BQs take much longer than others :P Working with different sets will allow you to earn more EXP as well.

I think the superior set for you right now would be utilizing your Blessed Trident and Large Gutting Knife, but you may have figured that out already. To be honest, I do not use Malignant Rift Staff often so I didn't realize how much of a struggle you would be having with it. I will keep that in mind when giving future advice. I don't have a T9 right now, but I just played around with it with my T10 and the blessing seems to activate or stay active pretty often? There are a few opponents who have blessings disabled so that may pose a small problem in the future. But at T11 it is no longer limited to healing via blessing.

Not equipping shards, potions, or pylonics is perfectly fine. I don't do it much either just because it is incredibly time consuming. However, if you ever want to squeeze out a few more wins on an opponent, such as ones that are only around for a limited time, they can be a very helpful resource.

Since I'm responding very late, is there anything else that has come up in the meantime that you need help on?
