This might be ridiculous...but I was just thinking...would it be good to have a way to sell/give away pet slots to other users? Or sell them "back to the site"? Maybe through the millionaire center? I don't know if this would even be a viable thing. All I know is, I've decided to have only one pet, but I have a ton of slots. It'd be nice if they could be useful for something, if I could get some sP/csc back for them or something.
It's probably stupid to even mention, but I'm at work and bored out of my skull, so...
I kinda asked about this years ago and it was shot down. Pretty sure giving away the slots would cause all kinds of issues...
As for selling back... well never heard that one before. I would support that but it would have to be for less than what was paid and there should be hard limits on it to make it fair?
Even with selling slots back for currency, you have the issue of people abusing it with things like quest-a-thon and loyalty petslots.
If it was only for bought petslots (MC/CSC), then I could see it maybe working out? But it would have to be about a 50% return to discourage people from just buying petslots, making pets, then dumping pets and returning the petslot for a full refund. So for a 2000CSC petslot, you'd get 1000CSC back if you sold the petslot.
Loyalty slots and quest-a-thon slots should be permanently tied to your account, so no returns for those.
One problem with this is we get free slots that I don't think we should be able to sell back. Basically the 10 free ones to start with, followed by the slots we get with quest-a-thons, and finally the yearly one we could choose from the totems. I have 17 pet slots and have never bought one. I don't think I should be able to "sell" them back to the site for CSC.
While the source of pet slots are now tracked, they weren't in the past so there's no real way for the site to be able to say you bought x slots and paid for y slots, so you can "sell" back z slots.
The other option, as I see it is to calculate the maximum number of slots that could have been free, then set that as a minimum. So, for example, say that number is 30 - no one with less than 30 slots could sell any back.
But it would still be complicated because we can purchase slots with CSC, or a sliding scale of sP in the millionaire center. A single pet slot has so many different possible values, how do you set one value for buy back?

Maybe you should be pleased you did help support the site even if you no longer want that many pets?
I'm puzzled on how to implement this because there is no one price for pet slots, and setting all of those prices may make a de-facto exchange rate for currencies which the site really doesn't want to do.
