For me about Subeta, I love the Human Avatar aspect, the pets and the forums! I battle, change my HA often, and chat often. Subeta has been a place that I feel more at ease being on here. Not to mention the user base is friendly and helpful!

Hello and welcome!

My absolute favorite thing to do here is battle. Subeta has an incredibly well built system, organized around four core-stats(Health, Strength, Defense, Speed), the sum total of which place your pet into a tier(1-13).

Just as your pet has a tier, all of the weapons on the site also come in tiers; you can only bring a weapon into battle that is equal to or lesser than your current tier, so for example, at tier 2 you can use any tier 2, tier 1, and tier 0(typically always one-use-and-gone-forever) weapons. You can bring up to 8 weapons into a battle, which you can organize into sets so you always have the same items readily available on a moment's notice, or you can swap them out by just editing a set or customizing from the challenger selection pre-battle screen.

Another crucial element to battling and your pet's stats is Intelligence. For every so many intelligence points(gained from reading books, or using stat boosters geared toward int), your pet gains one alchemy point, and alchemy points are what allow you to use scrolls. Unlike weapons, as long as your pet has enough alchemy points, it can wield any scroll available at any tier. You can create scroll sets as well once you have added a scroll to your scroll library.

A recent addition to the battling process is the option to pre-select the two weapons and one scroll that are first in your respective sets. Otherwise you will have to manually click the weapons and scroll to use on each turn.

With the training center located in Riverside on the map, you can quickly raise your pet's stats, though be advised that autotraining is currently undergoing maintenance and is temporarily broken due to the recent server and general site updates. For every enemy that you defeat in a battle, you earn experience points that you can also spend to raise your stats, but enemies will gradually get harder the more times you win against them and drop slightly more exp for that particular opponent up to 10 wins, after that the exp falls to a small fraction but you may earn useful items from continuing past that.

Battle Quests are the standard way to earn exp as you progress through the tiers. You can do up to 30 in a day, and they get harder as you progress, but the experience points go up as you get further along.

If you're still with me at this point, I'll wrap this up by saying that I highly encourage you to give battling a chance. From time to time(generally a couple of years apart) we receive a plot, which features opponents to fight, and loot that can be hard to buy afterwards if you don't earn it. We just came off of a halloween themed(Morostide on here) follow-up plot in October, but even if that wasn't the case the annual Morostide opponents drop some neat loot too, and there may be the occasional Gellatin War some time next year.

My favorite thing would this event and other like it that bring us subetans (not sure that is the right way to say it) together. It is wonderful to participate in all the activities of the event but the real gems for me are the threads where people really get to know each other and their world a little better.
