My venerable Wii (not WiiU--the original) has died. I do my serious gaming on a PC, but I will eventually get another console for parties or just a different experience.

What should I get? Any suggestions?

If it is just for parties, I would go with a Switch. Nintendo makes great party games. If you are looking between XBOX One and PS4, I have both. Started with the XBOX, but after 3 years I was not impressed with the exclusives for it. So I purchased the PS4. It has better RPG exclusives (what I tend to play) and I find the homescreen and such easier to interact with.
