can we please have the "edit profile" link in the personal dropdown link to the actual "edit profile" page instead of just relinking to our own profiles in edit mode? it just seems kind of silly because it looks like that link is supposed to lead to that page, because it's wedged between "dashboard" and "customize sidebar" which, in turn, have a row of links at the top leading to the edit profile page. a lot of people have trouble finding it - or don't even know the page exists - because they assume the link in that row will lead to the same place as when they tried it in the dropdown, but it doesn't. that's like UX 101 y'all, consistency in what links are called and where they lead is key to intuitive user navigation.

I understand what you're saying and why. However, if they do that, then the only way to get to the profile edit page to move things around the profile is through the link on the profile page itself which some people have edited out of their custom profiles.

Perhaps a better solution would be to rename things so that links with the same name don't go to different places. You could name the drop down menu option "Order Profile" instead of "edit profile" for example.

I think those are both excellent ideas. It solves the problem of links of the same name going to different places as well as the issue of custom profile pages not having the edit link. Makes the functions of each option clearer.
