I couldn't find where this has been suggested before and I don't know if it's even possible, coding-wise, but I thought it might be nice to have a sort of reverse stealth feature for the site that we can toggle off and on. This would essentially hide or block all social areas of the site- forums, news comments, disable pings, user comments, s-mails, holiday features, etc, without requiring us to leave or silence all the forum groups that we're a part of. There might be a few exceptions- namely staff posts and prompts about paying for CWs- things like that. I think there should also be a small alert on the user's profile saying that they have this feature enabled so that unnecessary drama isn't caused by people thinking that they're being ignored.

Subeta is a community website and most of the time it's a pretty good community compared to others but I'm sure most of us have our moments where we just want to quest, work on our pets, play around with the wardrobe or maybe check the site during a study break and not feel any social obligations.

Thoughts/suggestions?

I support this idea. It would be nice to have something like a busy status for your account so you can still work on pets, ext and not receive pings and what.

I can see this being good for busy times or for those in college, ext so freezing your account wouldn't be required for someone who's only going to be away for a small amount of time.

Yes please! I left a bunch of forum groups when I was going through a tough time mentally, and now I kinda miss them. It would be good to have a quiet mode for the future :) it'd have a multitude of uses I think.

I mean, there is already functionality in place to mute ping groups. The comment box and the mail user options can be removed from your profile. Your online status can be hidden. There is already a lot of this in place. And if nothing else, users can minimize the events section of the sidebar, or hide the sidebar entirely.

I can imagine this being accidently turned on by a newbie, and chaos ensuing.

Considering this site is meant to be a social platform (with events even requiring social posting), I can't see this being implemented.

I respect anyone who wants to play "silently", but I think staff has already implemented quite a lot to allow this.
